Beautiful property with loads of character and charm. Super clean and very comfortable bed and pillows as well. The owners and their wee doggo are delightful. Cannot recommend enough!

The staff were lovely. We had to stay another night here due to some personal reasons and the staff was super nice to change things around and make it that our next day booking was in the same room. The room was really nice and spacious. There is tea and coffee facilities in the room, a cafe/bar/restaurant down stairs on property. They have a gym. Parking is available for an added price. Walking distance from outside restaurants and shopping centre/ grocery stores. Activities: is about roughly an hour away from the castle and the penguin viewing site. Definitely recommend seeing the penguin, worth the trip and money.

Nothing here, but a 1990s art gallery, permanently closed pubs and offices, some crumbling 1920s department stores, Scotch churches which are closed and plain anyway. Plus its unsafe at night due to "colourful" deros and homeless

Unfortunately, I could not go to my favourite Pub and Restaurant The Craig. There was absolutely no parking in the area at all and I had to give up after the 6th drive around the block for the same outcome. It was raining and would have been a 20-30 mins walk alone and in darkness to get to and from the Octagon.

Had dinner at the Creig (Irish bar), beautiful hotpot pie and veges, fire was on staff were great. Recommend this place for its atmosphere and meals. The Octagon seemed to have a few eating places that had closed down. Found a few cafes near the Octagon (in the side streets) that had more character.

Location was great for walking to restaurants/bars and the octagon area. Apartment is open and spacious with everything needed and wonderful to have the 4 separate bedrooms and 2 separate toilet and shower rooms for a group. Owner was responsive to all the questions. We were lucky to snag a parking spot right out front, as we had A LOT to unload and take in.

The Leviathan is very close to the Octagon and easy access to the historic area, restaurants, bars and shops. 24 hour concierge service is good, and good advice about eating out, markets etc. The hotel is very clean and well serviced.

The location was fantastic, just steps from the Octagon and within easy walking distance to cafés, shops, and the museum. The beds were incredibly comfortable; after staying at five other hotels on this trip, we can confidently say we had the best night’s sleep at Chamberlon.

This place is clearly a labour of love for the owners. It has been very tastefully decorated, is incredibly clean, warm, and there are lots of thoughtful touches for visitors. There's a gorgeous outdoor seating area that we didn't use as I was travelling with older parents who found Dunedin cold and we were out so much. The owners gave us space, but when we did see them, they were very friendly and helpful. The accomodation was a 5-minute drive to the Octagon! Will definitely visit again.

The hotel location is very good, right in the center of Dunedin, close to the Octagon and to many of the historical buildings the city is well known for. The bike rental shop was close by and also near the starting point for the best bike trails around Otago Harbour.

The clean, fully fully (yes) apartment was comfortable and well located in the Octagon not too far up the hill from restaurants and close to a large supermarket. It's across the street from a reasonably priced indoor parking garage. Free street parking 7pm-9am. Outdoor stairs to first floor entrance level of two bedrooms, each of which with an en suite bathroom, in apartment staircase to living room/kitchen.

This hostel is central to Dunedin, so you do not have to walk far to the restaurants and bars in the Octagon. The hostel sits over a large bar with a lot of billiard tables. Seems very popular with the locals and college students studying at the nearby University of Otago. The dorm rooms are typical bunk bed layouts with budget twin mattresses. The bathrooms were reasonably clean and a decent kitchen area. They have free breakfast, but it is a pretty minimal offering.
