The best hotel in Cusco, is hands down, Antigua Casona. It is situated in the best area of Cusco, in the amazing old town centre, near to great spots for enjoying Peruvian cuisine. The hotel itself offers great dining opportunities in its lovely restaurant. Staff was amazing but what really blew our minds was the rooms, that offered luxury and modern notes while keeping the Peruvian style at its best. Great job, its not by luck the most wanted hotel in the area.

FAQs about hotels in Cusco

Timeless Inca Capital

Regarded as the oldest inhabited city of the Americas and its historical capital, none of these things are enough to describe the magic enchainment and colourful people of Cusco. A UNESCO World Heritage Site, its current shape is the colonial result of building on top of many Incan sites. A good example is the Cathedral of Santo Domingo.

Must see places include the walled complex of ‘Sacsayhuamán’, and the remains of the main temple of ‘Coricancha’, dedicated to the Sun God ‘Inti’. For longer Cusco stays, hotels near ‘Plaza de Armas’ central square are ideal to fully enjoy the city. Due to its 3400-metres altitude, some Cusco hotels offer oxygen to help their guests.

Moray, supposedly an ancient experimental agricultural station, is 46 km away, while the Titicaca Lake is 390 km away. The road to Machu Picchu is the famous Inca Trail or ‘Camino Inca’, which encompasses settlements, different Andean environments, and many Incan ruins.

Alejandro Velasco Astete International Airport offers several services to Lima. Arriving at Wanchaq Railway Station or ‘Terminal Terrestre de Cusco’ bus station are also popular choices. Come to visit the ancient jewel, enjoy Peru and Cusco with the hotel deals available on Booking.com!

Cusco is a nice city with good food and clean air.

Cusco is a nice city with good food and clean air. Make sure you are ready for the high altitude place. You can experience the Peruvian culture walking around the city. There are some good restaurants with great food and service and the prices are very reasonable. You are getting quality food for less. The local people are very nice and friendly. Not many of them speak English, so make sure you learn a bit of the common phrases in Spanish.

There are things to see in and near (Machu Pichu) Cusco that cannot be seen elsewhere. On the other hand, the place is literally overrun with tourists and miles away from life as most Peruvians live it. Businesses that cater to tourists dominate everything, and the tours I took were industrialized tourism at its worst.

It is required to go through Cusco to get to Rainbow Mountains, Machu Picchu and the Sacred Valley. However, I would limit my time in Cusco given the altitude and the city. After seeing the ruins which were worth the trip, I recommend spending time in Lima over Cusco.

It was a lovely hotel. Very clean and super comfortable beds. The absolute stand-out was Gladys Yesquein and her son Durand. She was an absolute sweetheart and made me feel right at home. Her lovely son tried very hard to help me with my tv. Even though she worked phenomenal hours, she was always friendly and helpful. Give that woman a payrise, I say, she is the jewel of Honda's San Blas.

What a great place to stay in the beautiful San Blas area. Who doesn't want to wander beautiful cobblestoned streets and stay in a great location! Staff were amazing, can't say enough about the great reception. Rooms are beautiful, heaters provided in the rooms. There are great restaurants just steps away from the hotel.
