Make sure you hire the kayak. Go to the end where there are less people for you will discover a smaller lagoon running parallel to the big one. Then look for the small cave like narrow passages for some adventure.
You need to get a kayak to go through the big lagoon. It is so big that swimming along will tire you out before you reach the place from your boat. Be careful when dip in the water because there is a part of the lagoon which have tons of jelly fishes swimming around
So sad that these polluting Bankas are still allowed to make this place an unsafe place. Banka driver are not taking care of swimmer. You need to watch out constantly for your kids . pollution with the Banka engine is overwhelming . You can literally see the oil floating in water. The quantity of banks is annoying. Since banks are very large they occupied a large space in the lagoon. and in front of the lagoon. really sad, we hope that soon this will be all regulated . For the sake of El Nido nature , please help to regulate all this, like all countries.
You have to know kayaking or ask the boatman to take you. But sometimes boatmen are not available. The boat that takes you to these islands cannot anchor close to the lagoon. You have to kayak from your boat to these islands.
Much better to do the Big Lagoon cause not much of tourist around and if you go on th end of the lagoon on the left side there was a hidden area were a prelude for undergound river escapade if you haven’t done yet in Sabang, Puerto Princesa.
So beautiful and needs to be seen via kayak to appreciate it. Be vocal from the beginning that you want a kayak. Our tour guide said no problem and that we rent t at the lake. Although this is true, you are there at the same time as all the other companies and there are not enough kyaks to go around. I was told that we couldn’t get a kayak but I kept at it until there was one to rent.
