I had an amazing stay at Walton Galata for my 4-day birthday trip! From the moment I arrived, the hospitality was exceptional-the receptionist was warm and welcoming, even offering me a drink at their rooftop with breathtaking panoramic views. The hotel itself was spotless, beautifully designed, and my room was spacious, cozy, and had everything I needed for a perfect stay. A special highlight was the thoughtful birthday surprise from the owner, Zeynep—a delicious cake delivered right to my door, which made my stay even more memorable. I truly wish I had more time to stay longer! I highly recommend Walton Galata to anyone visiting Istanbul, and I will definitely be coming back on my next trip.

The hotel is very centrally located, walking distance to the Istaklal and Taksim Square in one direction and to the Galata tower, ferries and trams in the other direction. Very clean, nice breakfast, very helpful staff. Can and Musab arranged a bag-breakfast the day of our departure since we left before the service was open. Truly lovely!

It was a great experience. The staff was very polite and helpful. We asked for a new pillow and they brought it immediately at 23.00 . The breakfast included a great variety of options including fresh figs. The room was very clean. The changed twels every day and offered us bottled water. The view from the restaurant was astonising. Sinan was realy helpful and helped us with everything we needed.

Galata Tower

Medieval Galata Tower pierces the clouds above Istanbul’s skyline, a soaring structure to the north of the Golden Horn. A replacement for a previous tower destroyed in the crusades, this one was built by the Genoese in 1348. For hundreds of years, it was the tallest building in Istanbul – its highest balcony still has the best views of the city today.

My favorite spot !

My favorite spot ! Always end up in that area at night , because it’s always busy, coffee shops are open after midnight! You can always hang out there ! I also love all the gifts shops in that area , good places to be souvenirs cheaper than the Grand Bazaar. You can also buy a ticket to go up the Galata Tower and see Istanbul on 360 degrees scale. Beautiful!!! But be prepared for the long line at the ticket window!

Another joke which is not even Turkish, as most of the monuments. Anyway. 35 euros just to inside the tower. If you want to use the lift you’ll pay 60 euros to enter. Told you these guys are born thieves! Amazing.

It's good that they have installed a set of lifts to get to the top of the tower. So you are not walking up too many steps. Best to get there early or towards sunset to see spectacular views with the mosques and the sea across Istanbul.

The hotel's location is incredibly convenient, just walking distance to Galata Tower and a whole row of lovely cafes. The service was excellent, with everyone very friendly and welcoming, especially Yusuf, who not only provided professional service but also made me feel warm and valued throughout my stay. The location was the best we ever had in Istanbul. Metro station is right near the hotel. Istiklal Caddessi and Galata tower are both up to 5 minutes away. Our room was on the less busy side of the building, so we didn't have much noise problems. All in all, it is too expensive for the provided value.

The location was amazing, literally 5-6 mins walking distance to Taksim Square, buses and transport facilities so easy to get everywhere; lots of options to eat but best of all 3 mins walk to Durumzadhe, Adana places where Anthony Bourdain ate before, a MUST!!! Galata Tower, Sultanahmet, Grand and Spice Bazaar all easily accessible by public transport under 20-30 mins. Taxis take long though due to traffic. The apartment is clean and comfortable. Many thanks to the team.

Our room was quite spacious, clean and comfortable and our mattress was quite luxurious. We were impressed by several things including the very extensive breakfast buffet that was included in our room rate, the amazing views from the roof terrace (where one can order food and drinks) and the kindness and attentiveness of the staff. We found this hotel to be well worth the price. It's a very close walk to the Galata tower but on a quiet smaller street.

There’s also a nearby tram station for easy access to Sultanahmet. The hotel itself was well maintained, and as a solo female traveler, I felt completely safe throughout my stay.
