Topkapi Palace
The home of Ottoman sultans for hundreds of years, Topkapi Palace is one of Istanbul’s UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Dating back to 1459, this sprawling royal residence once covered a huge stretch of the shore – and even had its own hospital, mint, and mosques within its walls! Now a museum, it displays some of the most important artifacts of the Muslim world.

visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit.
visit the jewellery section first. its a must visit. followed by the section for old religious relics. the kitchen , while falls first when you visit the palace, falls first from entrance could be visited at the end, even the section of fire arms could be 2nd last in terms of priorities. or else the Jewels and the religious relics part, which is more important will fall at the end and if you are tired, have kids or have impatient fellow travellers, will not get as much time as you would have liked to give it.

Great first stop to orient you to Ottaman history and culture. Pay extra to go to the Harem, but you don't need an audio guide as there are signs everywhere. Very beautiful gardens too. Overpriced + understocked cafes.

It was my 2nd time I was there and both times it was great. Long walks in parks and well preserved old buildings makes you feel like you are walking in history. Try to enter the complex earlier in the morning to avoid the crowd and the heat (if it's summer)

Our stay at this hotel was outstanding, thanks to its unbeatable location just a 3-minute walk from both Hagia Sophia and Topkapi Palace entrace. The staff were exceptionally welcoming, and the room combined modern comforts with delightful city views. Ideal for anyone eager to explore Istanbul’s historic heart with ease. Highly recommended!
The hotel was delightful & the staff were friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good. The hitel is located within a few minutes walk to the Blue Mosque & Hagia Sophia. Topkapi Palace is just beyond them.
Nice Boutique Hotel in the center of Sultanahmet. Presents a great overall value for a location that becomes walkable for the major sites of Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, Grand Bazaar, Spice Bazaar, Galata Bridge. Rooms are comfortable and functional and the breakfast included was very good. Staff was perfect - all helpful and very attentive and can assist with booking tours, cars, or anything you need during your stay.
First the location. I love that I could walk to the Blue Mosque, Ayasofia mosque, Sultanahmet, Topkapi palace, Gulhane park, Grand Bazaar.
The hotel and staff were excellent.
My room was spacious with large sunny windows with a balcony. I appreciated that they served Suhour for Ramadan.
The hotel exceeded our expectations in every aspect! The staff were incredibly friendly and always went above and beyond to assist us. Throughout our stay, they even surprised us with thoughtful gestures, which was a delightful touch! The room was exceptionally comfortable, impeccably clean, and blissfully quiet. Plus, the hotel's convenient location near the park and in close proximity to attractions like Agia Sofia and Topkapi Palace made our experience even more enjoyable. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Istanbul!
The apartment was perfectly located in the centre of Istanbul, a 5mins walk from all the major attractions such as Topkapi palace, Hagia Sophia etc.
There are amazing restaurants a few doors down, a mini supermarket and lotsof cafes. It's also literally down the road from the Bosphorus. Couldn't have been better positioned.
The owner Naif and his wife were amazingly hospitable, they treated us like family!
The hotel was very clean and in very good location. 15 min walk from Topkapi Palace and Blue Mosque. Most of attractions was easily on foot accessible. Cleaning service came every day of our stay and we had a clean room and clean towels every day. We had also every day free bottles of water on our room.
The hotel is located in the best location. Gulhane Park, Hagia Sophia, Basilica Cistern, Topkapi Palace are all around. The breakfast at the hotel was very delicious. the staff was attentive and helpfull, thank you Pamuk for all and the view was absolutely stunning.
The hotel is in the perfect location for doing tourist activities in Sultanahmet - it's just around the corner from Gülhane Park, the Hagia Sophia, the Blue Mosque, Topkapi Palace, and the Basilica Cistern. It's also right by a tram stop and an easy walk to the ferry to the Anatolian side. The beds were comfortable and the complementary breakfast was delicious and hearty.
Excellent stay . Very comfortable family room provided with 2 connected rooms. Gorgeous view of blue mosque from the room😍 The location is central , in the heart of things and within walking distance from

What Guests Said About Topkapi Palace:
Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded
Walk everywhere possible. Visit Hagia Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica cisterns and Topkapi Palace but go as early as possible as they get very crowded. For a trip on the Bosporus get the public ferry from under the Galata bridge to the last stop and go up to the castle and then get last ferry back to Istanbul. The first ferry is at 10.35 and the ferry back is at 3ish. It is very reasonable but there is no commentary but we thought it was excellent but be early to get a good view and position on top deck. We found the best restaurant to be Amedros. We went two times and the food is excellent and good value and the staff friendly attentive.

If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it
If you go to Topkapi Palace it is worth paying for a guided tour in order to appreciate it. Audio guides are available but in my experience these are often disappointing. The rooms are often empty and there is limited information to read. A guide brings the place to life.
