Times Square is something that has to be seen to truly appreciate. However, be prepared to be overwhelmed with the amount of people and the sensory overload! Don't pose for pictures with or even interact with the characters in costumes, unless you intend to pay them. If you want to see Times Square at the least stressful time, go at 3am. And the best food in NYC is NOT in Times Square.
My comments are only negative because everything got shut down and our trips were all cancelled due to Coronavirus so everywhere was either shut or empty. Just bad timing but lucky to have survived the experience.
Mixed Emotions. One night, immediately as the rain was gone, I met a melting pot of languages and advertising displays right there on Times Square and felt landed in a vision of tomorrow. But it was nowadays. That let me think over some things. And especially for this we need such unique places. I love that.
WOW!!!! Times Square is definitely one of those must see places in New York!! And that is any time of the day!! But it is most spectacular at night....the lights, the people, the atmosphere...the place is a buzz ALL THE TIME!! I highly recomend a visit to Times Square for any traveller.
If you attending a count down you need to bring adult nappies. Toilet is not accessible. Once you In that's it, if you going out there is no way you can back in. Backpacks, ambarella etc.. you cant take it inside. Overall visits my family enjoyed our stay except the countdown very unorganised.
Always something going on, day or night. Behind the Ruby steps is a ticket booth selling discount theatre tickets, however it pays to contact the theatres direct if you can as quite often when buying from them they can be cheaper!
The property is perfectly located for first time visitors to New York being just off Times Square. Personally I didn't find it too noisy, but I do wear ear plugs to sleep, so I had no issue at all. We stayed in a two bedroom apartment with a kitchenette, it had a sofa and dining table, so was perfect for my travelling companion and I. It was clean, comfortable and serviced every day. The Staff were very friendly from reception to the cleaning and maintenance staff that we came across.
Hotel was new and room was quite big.Shower, toilet and room was very clean when we arrived.Location is very good for to see New York.Metro is only 10mins walking distance from hotel. You can walk times square by 15mins, empire state building 15-20mins, central park 20-25 mins etc.Hotel staff was helpful about everything we asked.I requested higher floors for to stay and just inform hotel about our honeymoon with my wife, they provide us wine and arrange 25th floor to stay.Everything was good.
Pod Hotel is so very well located at Hell's Kitchen in midtown, very close from Times Square, Hudson Yards, Penn Station and Port Authority Bus terminal... if fact, when you stay at Pod Hotel you are very close to everything in Manhattan. My room was a little bit small, but very confortable... the bathroom was very spacious and smart. Pod hotel is a wonderful place to stay in New York, i wil stay there again in my next trip to NYC.
I booked The New Yorker for my wife's birthday for 5 nights, the hotel is very well situated in Manhattan for the subway, Madison Sq Garden, Broadway and Times Square, we could see the Empire State Building from our room. If you are planning a trip and want a central location, the New Yorker fits the bill, it is a little more expensive than other hotels but worth the extra for the location alone.
The Doubletree By Hilton New York Times Square West is well-located, in walking distance to Penn Station and mid-town. The hotel makes a modern appearance; the rooms are clean and comfortable. Big plus is that rooms come with a little coffee maker, shampoos and a range of nice towels. Service at the reception and friendliness of cleaning staff is worth noting and much appreciated.
We were nervous prior to arrival, due to the comments in the reviews. We stayed in a Queen room, which we thought was a generous size for a Times Square Hotel. All the staff were extremely helpful and we had no issue with water going everywhere whilst showering. Would say this is above average typical hotel for the location and will be looking to stay here again on our next trip.
Great concept and I'm shocked it's not more popular in New York. Tiny but affordable hotel room in great area, walking distance from Times Square/Broadway, Grand Central Station and some of the city's most famous landmarks. Helpful staff. Citibike rack directly opposite the hotel, excellent 24/7 diner on Lexington half a block away.
The location is ideal, very close to Times Square. Very clean and the adjoining bars are very cool. The hotel feels new and the bed was comfortable with a great shower. The aircon also works well which is needed. There was a lovely cafe right next door that I would recommend for pastries.
Location was great, right on Times Square. Most staff were friendly and greeted us as we left the hotel or came back on an evening. The hotel itself was clean and our room was a good size for a New York hotel room.
The location is very convenient, close to Times Square and Bryant Park as well as metro stations. Also, the hotel is clean, rooms are small but nice.
Choose a substantial section of the city, say Lower Manhattan, plot the sights you wish to see on a map so that you do not have to retrace your steps, take public transit to your starting point and begin your exploration. We started at the 9/11 Memorial and worked our way north, including City Hall, the Merchant's House, Chinatown, the Bowery, Washington Square, the White Horse Tavern, the High Line and the Garment District. Of course, there were all kinds of surprises, which added to the experience. We began at 10 am and were back at our Times Square hotel by 4 pm.
The Broadway experience is such a classic part of going to New York. The standard of performance is so high, and the atmosphere as you spill out towards Times Square afterwards is unforgettable.
Well, They're iconic! Statue of Liberty, Empire State, Top of The Rock, Times Square are things you must visit who you're there!
There are so many historical sights and architecture to see and behold. You can walk the stretch of Broadway and Times Square and you'll see many attractions already.
Times Square is very busy as are most of the main tourist attractions, but the hop on hop off busses are great or if you don't mind walking choose another street other than broadway and it is far easier to walk down
Visit the city during the week. You could visit locations without being mobbed. Times Square on the weekend (first weekend in June) was a zoo - too crowded.
