It was my first trip to Montreal.
It was my first trip to Montreal. I am living in Vancouver for more than 2 decades. I was quite surprised and annoyed regarding Canada's two official languages. The use of English was minimum and I dont understand or speak French. I had lot of trouble dealing in some stores where the speakers were only speaking French.Guest review byNaeem - 8.0
The city has a lot of interesting places to visit though...
The city has a lot of interesting places to visit though most activities are about looking at the architecture in the old town. With the so very many restaurants in the area most travellers spend a lot of time viewing posted menus to hunt for the best match, the main sport in the area. I think it is wise to plan ahead and target based on results as all is available online. Restaurants as in most tourist areas are pricy and prices reflect accordingly though some places are a bit more cost friendly than others. The other main attraction is to take a cruise on the Fleuve. The cruises offer various packages including a 3 hour serenated diner cruise with subsequent dancing. We booked the top offering costing 600$ for two persons and left the boat rather disappointed given poor service, no recognition for our top of the line purchase, chewy tenderloin, unseasoned lobster tail, faux garlic butter and more. If I were to repeat or my kids would want to go, I would take and suggest the cruise but eat dinner on land at a restaurant. Please note we may have been unlucky and part of the issue was caused by quality over price not being good.Guest review byRichardCanada - 10.0
A variety of activities were available - for all ages.
A variety of activities were available - for all ages. I thought it was a bit of a money grab to charge people to go to what should be a public beach. There were lots of excellent restaurant choices.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

We could walk from the hotel to the many restaurants as well as along the waterfront for daily sunsets. Dorval Airport: Easy to navigate. Helpful staff.
Dorval Airport: Easy to navigate. Helpful staff. Clean and fresh. Cleaning staff were cleaning, not just pushing equipment around, they were busy doing their job. The bus service from the airport into the city is excellent. Other airports could benefit from a similar system.Guest review byGwendolynCanada - 8.0

The Cape Shrine is a beautiful and tranqualizing pilgreamge place. The Le Temps D'une Pinte is a good place to finish the day with good food, good local beers, and good service. Unfortunately and fortunately, we expereinced the first snow of the year and so could not go on foot to enjoy the history of the buildings in the downtown area, but then the snow added the beauty to the city.Guest review byLOUIS YAN HINHong Kong - 8.0
Beautiful scenery.
Beautiful scenery. Parking is much too expensive, but the town is small enough to walk everywhere. The whales didn't show up. For a tourist town, too many signs are French only with no English translations!Guest review byAnonymous - 6.0
I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home.
I love Gatineau, it was my childhood home. It is very beautiful, however, with all the construction, long weekend traffic & Ironman rally detours unbeknownst to us tourists, plus a couple fender benders, traffic was horrific for getting around.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

This was my first stay at this hotel and I really enjoyed it! Everything was clean, comfortable, and well-organized. The staff was friendly, and the overall atmosphere was relaxing. My only regret is that I only stayed for one night and didn’t book a room with a view of the river — something I’ll definitely do next time!Guest review byVioletaCanada
