Views from our room were spectacular! We watched the fog lift over the hills around Medellin in the morning and the twinkling lights at night. Best of all are the staff: John and Alvaro, who alternated as concierges, Alejandra on the desk, Jaison on night duty -- we could ask them for anything and they would arrange it. The suites are large and comfortable with a kitchenette, perfect for long stays, and the breakfasts were amazing. Kudos to all!

Between buildings and hills covered with vegetation, Medellin has a wonderful landscape and natural beauty. The people are another great aspect o the cultural exchange. Warm, helpful and friendly. Always willing to help. The traffic can be heavy during the day, so it's good to plan ahead your tours. The subway is a good mode to move to the different sightseeings of the city, such as Plaza Botero, Antioquia Museum, palace of culture etc The Poblado area is very good for its options in hotels and nightlife at Parque Lleras. To eat very well and taste local cuisine you don't need to spend much in overrated restaurants. Try the local small places that serve Plato Ejecutivo, close enough to everyday food, homemade taste.

The city has a very friendly atmosphere and feels more relaxed than Bogota and Cali. The weather is practically perfect. We spent the evenings in the El Poblado district, with its great restaurants and nightlife. During the day we took the metro to places like downtown and Parque Arvi. Highlights were the Botero paintings and statues in the Museo de Antioquia and the Metrocable.

Medellín is a beautiful and dynamic city. The sweeping views of the valley from the cable cars were a highlight of my trip and a definitely "must-do" in Medellín. I also recommend Museo Antioquia for the Fernando Botero exhibit and the graffiti tours of Communa 13. Be sure to allow at least 4 hours if you are going to visit Parque Explora, Medellín's version of the Exploratorium in San Francisco.

Medellin is a treasure, the city of the eternal spring offers you a lot and its safe. From the astonishing Botero museum or the Castillo and the University of Antioquia, the city Is full of nature like an Italian garden. People are extremely nice and genuine. I believe that barrio Laureles or barrio Conquistadores are the best spots to stay. The most celebrated Poblado is too crowded and sometimes expensive for no reason. Medellin worth really a nice vacation or few months to enjoy and experience the Paisa culture.
