Me and my wife were very happy of the hotel. The rooms have a nice touch of moderness without being "cold". The superior room was more than big enough and I enjoyed the little private balcony. The staff was quick and very friendly. They even got us a little special attention in the room because they noticed we loved the little sweets at the reception.

The hotel owner has spent a small fortune on an amazing remodel. I am a builder so the company that did the reform did an amazing job. The finishes and colors are perfect. We were upgraded on arrival. The room was spacious with the most comfortable bed we’ve had on our trip. Lovely balcony and bathroom with bath. Lots of lovely toiletries. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. Best buffet breakfast we’ve had and lovely roof top with very small pool (but be early). Great bar with terrific views of the port and up to the old town and cathedral.

FAQs about hotels in Costa del Sol

Much More Than Just Sun

With warm waters and sun-drenched beaches, the Costa del Sol certainly lives up to its name. From north of Gibraltar to Almuñecar, this part of Andalusia is a top destination for holidaymakers of all budgets.

Puerto Banús attracts the world’s super-rich, and many moor million-pound yachts in its harbour. Glamorous Marbella also has designer shops, an orange tree-lined square, and easy access to Costa del Sol golf courses.

Quieter Estepona has a low-key harbour and several good Costa del Sol hotels for kids, while Fuengirola’s long, sandy beach is overlooked by a Moorish castle and Roman ruins. On its outskirts is Mijas waterpark, named after the hill town offering fantastic views of the Costa’s rugged mountains and pristine beaches.

Another waterpark - Aqualand - is in Torremolinos, a vibrant resort with many Costa del Sol hotels by the beach. Long and sandy, it stretches all the way to lively Benalmádena, from where dolphin watching trips depart. Also here is Tivoli World theme park, and a cable car just opposite goes up Monte Calamorro.

With its impressive Alcazaba castle overlooking Roman ruins, Málaga, the region’s capital, was the birthplace of Picasso, and a museum and his former home can be visited. Nerja to the east boasts a 19th-century aqueduct and the Balcony of Europe promenade above its beach.

The staff was super friendly and always smiling. Tasty thematic diners (e.g., Tex-Mex, Asian, etc.) everyone could choose from, plus variety of seafood always available. Interesting culture program in the evenings. We definitely recommend all-inclusive option that never left us hungry (even while leaving hotel for day trips) with all inclusive snack-bar available while dining area not serving breakfast, lunch or dinner, plus, selection of non-alcoholic and alcoholic beverages such as spirits (e.g., Bacardi), liqueurs (e.g., Baileys) and mixed drinks (e.g., Aperol Spritz, Mojito, Pina Colada) served at each of the four bars.

I recently stayed at **Parador de Málaga (Gibralfaro) and it was absolutely **stunning**! The views over the city and port are breathtaking—especially from the terrace at sunset. The rooms are spacious, clean, and full of traditional charm, while the staff were warm, professional, and always ready to help. The location is perfect for exploring Málaga’s historic sites, yet peaceful enough to relax. Don’t miss the on-site restaurant—delicious local dishes with a view! A truly special stay , highly recommend for history lovers and anyone wanting a unique experience. **10/10!**

I visited the city during winter, so it was a bit cold, and it was rainy. The best part about Marbella is the Old Town. It was charming, with narrow alleys and nice tapas bars. The Christmas decoration was also very nice, but the Christmas market was just meh. I wasn't impressed with Puerto Banús. It was flashy and polished and feels kind of soulless. Overall, Marbella is a nice place to visit. I enjoyed my time in Marbella, but I probably won’t be back. If I had to choose, I’d say Malaga and Granada as both cities have more charms and characters.

Love going to Fuengirola If its the beach you like go-- the beach is well kept and clean. WE were there during some bad storms yet the beach was cleared the following day. Lots of choice on beach beds just look around as the price varies. So much choice for eating out. From your cheap bites-- Food for Thought, Talk of the Town to name two to your more expensive KuDamm. The mix of tastes is great. You do not need to stick to just british foods. Try the local foods, try something new every night your there. As a diabetic I found the choice for me to be really good. And when I asked for changes to the menu all were willing to do this. Fuengirola has a great bus and train service. Fuengirola is the end of the line takes 35 mins to reach from the airport. Public transport is clean and reliable every day. Use the machines just remember to tap in and out using your bank card. Very rarely is it packed but just be patient and everyone gets to where they want to be. You must go and look at the public areas where there are plenty of seats to sit back and people watch at your leisure. have a look in the local churches, even if its not really your thing. Check out the Evangelical church on the frontline. When in Fuengirola relax, dont hurry, enjoy the calm and walk along the beach ( either on the sand or not). Stop when you want to. Be polite and you will receive a great service.

Nerja is a lovely seaside town, perfect for a relaxing holiday. We stayed here for a few days around Christmas and really enjoyed it. The beaches are wide, clean and sunny, and there are many nice day-trip options nearby (we especially recommend Frigiliana). The old town is beautiful, with charming streets, shops and good restaurants.

Mijas is pretty. Lots of bars and restaurants. It can be hilly and there are lots of steps/ cobbled streets so may be unsuitable for people with mobility issues. There is a lot of traffic through Mijas and not many just pedestrianised areas so you do need to be aware of traffic when walking around the narrow streets.
