It was lovely and clean both rooms after we got moved as work was going on at the spa all we could hear was drilling but they did move us to a small room with a smaller bed as we were meant to have twin beds one of these things food was good , staff all lovely couldn't fault the staff, hotel was spotless lovely and clean everywhere this has been my 5th visit over the past 2-3 years I love it so peaceful great breach to walk along and also great golf course not that I play golf I couldn't fault it ,
I love this place so much! soo clean breakfast was the best one we had in England, the staff so sweet, and the owners a dream ! I recomend this place if you are going to be in this area! great place for walking right on the golf course! get the Arbikie highland scotch soo good!
Wonderful lodge in a remote location. The perfect start to a 16 day tour of Scotland. Hiking the Glen Clova area to Airlie tower, Castle Clova, and Glen Doll was the perfect way to adjust to the time change. Their restaurant staff are to notch.
The food is amazing and cocktails best I've had 🍹staff in townhouse customer service exceptional we stay there twice a year for the past 5 years absolutely lovely hotel and fab location look forward to next visit 🥰
The staff were very happy to see us and very helpful in imparting information about the hotel and that if we had any questions, someone from the staff would be on hand to answer any questions.
Breakfast was excellent with many options for light, cooked, etc. The food and atmosphere in the bar was excellent and the staff was friendly and helpful.

I cant review Montrose, I just got there when it was dark, then next morning got picked up from the hotel, to collect a car then started the 315 mile drive home, so I never got chance to see Montrose.

We normally stay in St Andrews when on a short break in the area. Carnoustie golf Hotel is more than a match for most St Andrews hotels. The town on the other hand is a long way short when it comes to restaurants and shops compared with St Andrews. If you are staying 1 or 2 nights then I would definitely recommend Carnoustie golf Hotel.

Yes we were very happy to see the park with all the facilities( a swing for a wheelchair user). What a great idea! A paddling pool and everything a child would love to play on. It's such a shame about the miniature railway my husband visited Arbroath as a child and said it was such a shame it wasn't running anymore! It was a great walk along the front and it came to mind how good it was for the elderly and it disabled. The weather was good to us so it was perfect.

We lunched at The Drovers Inn which was fantastic. Forfar has a lot of nice places to eat and is not far from Glamis Castle which is a lovely day out. The only downside about Forfar is that it doesn't have a rail service but it does have a regular bus service.

Room was perfect size for family, bathroom has leak beside shower causing mold /rotten wood.
Room does get a lot of noise from business above.
I was unaware I hadn't preordered breakfast as I received an email day before asking me what time slot i wished but when check in was told no breakfast available as more rooms than tables for breakfast available. Was offered 9.30am breakfast downstairs on first day but second day we were refused far from ideal for a family with children to be told to wait til 10am when public breakfast area opens! We actually had 3 rooms booked for 2 nights but only one room got breakfast stress free . Please consider making breakfast in your larger area rather than refusing families breakfast.

Edzell is a beautiful place to stay, most people were friendly and helpful. The bedroom was adequate and although quite small was nice and comfortable.the shower was not great and very poor and the toilet would not flush properly without having to refill the cistern. The auto lights in the very dark hall did not come on unless we walked way past our room so kind of pointless for us. The breakfast room is in need of soft music or something as all we could hear was other people eating with their mouths open, this was not enjoyable. The bar also is in need of some music in the evening anything really to give it some life.

Very nice place and lots to see. We went to Brechin Castle it was nice and good cafe it does meals tea & coffee & cakes & sandwiches of all kinds a lovely cafe. Plus it has a shop and garden shop. Brechin has a steam railway station with working trains we missed the train going away but waited for it to come back and will catch it next time. I drove around the town no problem and got parked no problem very nice place.

Beautiful tranquil place to lay your head down and listen to the nature outside.
Walk around Lintrathen Loch with our dog, and saw two Kingfishers, and lots of Canadian Geese feeding, flying so low, the sound of their wings was audible wow!
We enjoyed dinner in the Drovers in Memus, a short drive away, recommended by our Hosts,
Food was so good we are taking friends there tonight!
We left Lintrathen, rested and relaxed, thank you 🙏
Would highly recommend a stay there.

Arbroath is a nice coastal town, good size for walking around all the main areas. Main shopping street a bit tired with lots of closed shops, but enough coffee, bars and restaurants. We used the Wetherspoons a few times which is always good value for money, and The Old Brewhouse at the harbour was a good sized hearty meal in small but nice restaurant/bar. The Signal Tower Museum is worth a visit for history on the Bell Rock Lighthouse. We walked the coastal path north, my husband walked about 11 miles to Lunan Bay, signposts were ok, but skirting around farms and small villages was long, but interesting. Montrose is also good for a visit, especially for bird watchers around the tidal basin and coastal rivers. All around is excellent area to explore and walk, we had good dry weather which is always a bonus.

Unfortunately, Montrose is struggling because of the downturn in the oil industry. It has a number of empty shops and the main street area is a bit scruffy. This is in marked contrast to the residential areas, which are all smart, clean and tidy. There are also park areas giving a lot of greenery within the town.
The surrounding area is interesting. Arbroath and Stonehaven were worth a visit and Dunnottar Castle is a must. The Air Museum in Montrose is also a couple of hours well, spent.
On average, 3-star hotels in Angus cost $129 per night, and 4-star hotels in Angus are $204 per night. If you're looking for something really special, 5-star hotels in Angus cost around $265 per night (based on Booking.com prices).
