Excellent accommodation - clean and excellent facilities. The staff were superb. Breakfast was excellent. VERY short walk to Summerleaze beach and sea pool, both of which we spent a lot of time at. We also very much enjoyed cocktails on the terrace, particularly watching the sunset on our final night. Bliss!

The room felt like a studio apartment—high ceilings with plenty of natural light, stone walls gave the room character. Air conditioning was great. The room had a very comfortable bed, a great shower, and a wonderful terrace for the continental breakfast that was included in the price.

The description of the Boskerris Hotel is accurate but far too modest. However, its rating on this site of “Superb 9.3” is entirely justified and indicates that other guests have also been pleasantly surprised. Besides the superb accommodation, magnificent sea views, quiet location and friendly, efficient staff, the hotel also has few hidden gems. The restaurant is superb and would compare well to any other top-class restaurant. The dining room is tastefully decorated and is perfectly arranged for that intimate dinner for two, with candles included. But what makes this restaurant so good is the chef, who elevates the experience to one of “fine dining”. Another hidden gem is the Carbis Bay train station which despite its proximity, can hardly be seen or heard from the hotel. It only takes a few minutes to arrive in St. Ives and the return trip for two people costs less than 2 hours of car parking – if you could find a space. Only a few minutes in the other direction, the station of St. Erth, which I’d never even heard of, has connections to all parts of Devon and Cornwall and even has a fast train to London. But why go anywhere else when the beach at Carbis Bay is as good as any other with fewer people and no dogs. It’s very difficult to imagine how anyone could be disappointed with this hotel.

It was our first time in St Ives and we really liked the relaxed feel of the town and how pretty it was in its natural seaside setting. There’s a strong creative community and the art galleries and shops are good. There are some classic English seaside town pisspoor eateries, but there are also some real gems that are well worth seeking out, if your budget allows. Walking through town in high season is tricky, it’s packed, but Carbis Bay is just nearby, go there for some peace and a spectacular beach.

Falmouth is quiet, beautiful and clean. I recommend driving there through the night though. Our journey from South Yorkshire via Leicester should have been 6 hours. Due to traffic , it was 11-12 hours in the car. Also , don’t try to eat out at a restaurant after 9pm. EVERYWHERE stops serving food really early.

St Austell is a run down and neglected town hard to navigate and not much to see. Charlestown is a delightful harbor with a good choice of restaurants and bars a bit of a shame that the harbor is being worked on but it has to be done. Then further south you have Pentewan a beautiful beach within a holiday complex lots of activities for the little ones and a good beach cafe.

Lovely little village that becomes quite lively at around 9.30 am. Nice selection of restaurants, pubs and gift shops. Also parking was ample and very reasonably priced. We found the people in the village were very friendly and also very helpful, we eat at a few different cafes and also tried the fish and chip shop in the village and the standard of food was excellent. We couldn’t leave without stocking up on Scones and Cornish Pasties for our lunch when we arrived home.
