Still had sports bars and restaurants but didn't have the club feel which suited us. Could be quieter than other places but everything was there and shop owners weren't as pushy. we loved our massages as well having a few favourite stalls as people were lovely and polite. The Juice House had great drinks and breakfast bowls, and head toward beach and there is a great little Indonesian food cafe on opposite side that was great food for cheap prices. Main street is busy and congested in peak hour. You can grab horse and buggy as there are 4 to choose from or a drinking 'cycling' bus for fun... think there was more drinking than cycling lol! Easy access to Seminyak, Legian or down south. 20 min to airport generally.Guest review byCarolynAustralia - 8.0
Canggu is a very busy part of Bali.
Canggu is a very busy part of Bali. The locals are very friendly with lots to see. Lots of very nice restaurants clise to our stay.Traffic is extremely busy and getting even short distances is difficult due to seriously heavy congestion. We enjoyed our stay but would look at less busy area if you want to travel to the sights to see in BaliGuest review byPaulUnited Kingdom - 8.0
Seminyak made a very pleasant impression.
Seminyak made a very pleasant impression. It's not far from the airport — about 25 minutes. The people here are friendly and welcoming, always ready to help. The atmosphere is calm and cozy, and you can feel the hospitality.Guest review bySharaKazakhstan - 10.0

Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay :)Guest review byJennaNew Zealand - 4.0
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend...
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend their miles and points at all the usual hotel chains. The neighborhood is almost all resort pricing unless you go and mingle in the slum-like conditions that the local construction workers are living in. Almost all of the activities and attractions outside of the resorts are very suspicious, often feeling like tourist trap scams. I would only stay here again if someone were inviting me to some convention hosted here and they were putting me up in the resort hotel.Guest review byKoJapan - 10.0
My first time in travelling to Bali and I was nervous.
My first time in travelling to Bali and I was nervous. I couldn't have been more surprised. Legian is a terrific spot. I felt safe and had fun the whole 10 days that I was there. Our hotel arranged transport when I asked and we also used the Bluebird Taxi App, which is terrrific. I didn't find the beach swimmable but there were many surfers. Restaurants and bars lined the streets, as did shops of all descriptions. So much fun shopping. Taxi rides to visit interesting sites are cheap, as are full day private tours. Our rooftop pool was awesome and we loved spending lots of time there. I can't wait to return.Guest review byktdyrAustralia - 10.0

Jimbaran is very laid back and traffic is not bad by Bali standards. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and spent most of our time there. We did have a family dinner on the beach at sunset and that was a great experience. We also had a fantastic dinner at an Indian restaurant near the beach. I can’t wait to visit jimbaran again with my grandson and learn to surf!Guest review byhumphrey - 8.0

We found a shop in Kerobokan where all the locals went to buy clothes etc, the prices were set and very reasonable if you didnt want to barter for everything Our villa was at the end of a driveway a fair walk from the shops etc, we couldnt find a salon nearby to have a massage. We were close to a laundry however and their prices were amazingly low and their services was excellentGuest review byGlenysNew Zealand - 10.0

Fantastic culture, some great places to go in the middle,...
Fantastic culture, some great places to go in the middle, and North of the Island. I spent a week in Ubud, then a week on the South coast. I could have spent 2 weeks in Ubud, and based most of my travels from there. Beaches in the South are something else, great surf, etc. Things to note which you may not expect. Traffic is mental. Most roads are bad, poorly surfaced, narrow and congested. Most people get around by scooter, which is fine, but be prepared for the fumes if you're doing more than a pop-to-the-shops on one. And the endless 'sell'. I was taking my own picture at a restaurant and was told I would have to pay for it (Rice Terraces) They aren't all like that, don't get me wrong, but they will push it. Fun can be had with haggling, Rule of thumb, offer half their asking price, then work back from there. Be prepared to be followed down the street if you don't buy it. Food is amazing. Try the local dishes, so much better than the same dishes back home. And why would you fly half way round the world to have fish & chips in a different country? And, getting there. Get your visa before going, they have 40-ish automated passport gates, which you can use if you have a digital passport. Use the Gojek App for taxi, or even food and other things whilst you're there (Like Uber).Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom
