The hotel is simply perfect having all amenities well maintained. A beautiful pool and very nice location to get to the Yala national park. The staff is extremely helpful and willing to take care of everything you need. Food is also great! Absolutely recommended stay! 😁😁

This is a very comfortable hotel and the family who runs it is lovely! They took me to see bats flying at sunset and cooked incredible meals. I also did the full day safari - my guide was extremely knowledgeable and respectful of the animals’ environment.

Words cannot really express how kind and accommodating Nalin and his family were. They did so much beyond expectations to make our stay perfect. We had to stay an extra day due to sickness and from getting medication from the pharmacy, arranging everything we needed no matter what and just generally being very interesting and keen to learn about other cultures in a completely comfortable and non intrusive manner it was superb. Been to Sri Lanka many times and mat so many kind Sri Lankans but Nalin clearly stands out. The rooms were spotless, no smell of damp (which can happen due to humidity in some places), we had the room of AC which was lovely, but a family member had a non ac room which was comfortable with the fans provided. Food was superb and they will arrange ahead of any dietary requirements. It was an honour to stay there and have the please of such good hospitality. I can see why this is 10/10 and 5* on Google! Also ask ahead about Safari and what animals you want to see and the type of trip you want because Yalla can be quite hectic and Nalin will help a lot. We arranged a tour beforehand which was good but it would have been better to have had some local knowledge prior to this as the Safari was quite hectic.

The property is beautifully designed and every detail has been thought out. To top it off, the general manager and his staff are amazing. I could not recommend this place more. And don’t forget to visit their coffee shop on the main road. We had lunch there. Outstanding food and good value.

Super clean, amazing and very attentive owner and staff and gorgeous view of the lake. The owner picked us up from the bus stop and showed us around the lakes. He is so knowledgeable about all the fauna and takes time to tell you about everything. We saw all kinds of birds, crocodiles, bats and the water buffalo. The owner showed us interesting places related to local culture and it was fascinating. The food and service were both exceptional. We did the safari tour and it was great but my favorite part of the trip was the Tissa tour by the hotel owner. Don’t miss it!

    Gorgeous location tucked away on a private chunk of land connected to Yala park. The staff are amazing and go out of their way to make sure you are safe and have everything you need. I can’t say enough about the food! We only stayed for one night as we were moving quickly between locations while there, but should have booked minimum 2 nights. Would be perfect location for a honeymoon. Amenities are out of this world. Our guide for the safari was very informative and easy to chat with. I was happy to hear that the company provides the guides who can explain the animals in English, but hire jeeps and drivers from the local villages to distribute the benefits of the tourism dollars around. Would 100% stay again and highly recommend.

    Our whole stay at Wild Coast was magical. We came to celebrate our honeymoon and there could have been no better place. The concept is incredible - a luxurious experience while nestled amidst nature. Staff is incredible and take very good care of you. Food and drinks are incredible. We stayed 2 nights and would have loved to have stayed for longer. Game drives were amazing. We had a spectacular dinner on the beach under the stars. Every minor detail is so carefully and meticulously planned. Wild coast has been a major highlight from travels over the last 15 years.

    We loved the location of this hotel. It was beautiful. Our main purpose was to go for Safari, and this hotel is perfectly located from Yala National Park. They even packed us breakfast at 5am, so we can take it with us to Safari. We spent an afternoon at the pool, (and had it all to ourselves which was also a bonus). The food was great, and we had the buffet there. The staff were all amazing. Everyone that worked there, were quite young, but incredibly professional, polite and kind, and they all really went out of their way to help us.

    Such a wonderful property and location. Full of wild life. The price is much more reasonable than the other ones close by.     Tissamaharama is a fantastic base for anyone looking to explore the natural beauty and rich culture of southern Sri Lanka. It's perfectly located for Yala National Park safaris, offering easy access to incredible wildlife encounters. Beyond the safaris, the town itself has a calm, local vibe with beautiful lakes and ancient temples to discover. You'll find plenty of local restaurants and shops, making it easy to enjoy authentic Sri Lankan experiences.     Kataragama itself is a temple town and that’s pretty much it. Other than that it’s a jumping off point for safari in yala and kumana. One day is more than enough for cultural/religious aspects. The Perahara (pageant) in July is fantastic. Be warned that it may not start till midnight and may need pre booked tickets. Also watch out for pickpockets in crowded areas around this time. The country side and the rural life as well as the wildlife is fantastic and authentic. Quite hot and sunny year round but dec to feb is more comfortable.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying.

    It definitely is an experience worth trying. The tree house has all the comforts you need but yet kept on the simple side. Don't expect much and you will get a lot. Nice food Bbq and big fire lit for you in the evening to give you a chance to relax and talk about your day activities. It was great to be left alone and the silence of the night. There were times you just felt that we were the only ones there and when you needed something the staff would magically appear

    A great place to stay and would definitely recommend. Large comfortable room close to the pool, with restaurant and plenty of cold beer. We were very well looked after and nothing was too much trouble. Anyone looking for a visit to the National Park should consider staying at Tringa and booking the tour with them as they will make sure you have a great experience.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6.

    We went for leopard safari & it is in zones 5&6. Safari was excellent & saw one leopard & a bear! Hotels generally not near any restaurants so confined to your hotel for dining. Would not want more than one or two nights there.

    The owner of Serenity lake advices us to visit Yala safari, Sithul pawwa magul viharaya and sithul pawwa a super history with beautiful scenery, which we did and we're very grateful for his advice. We returned to the serenity lake to have lunch before heading off. Requested for a village kind of lunch with the local veggies and it was served on a lotus leaf... The most delicious meal it was. We had lunch at Reds and at the Serenity lake .

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari.

    I thought it was a different place to go for Safari. But, almost all vehicles come from Tissa for Safari pickup so it doesn't really matter if you book a room in Tissa or Katharagama for the Safari.

    too many jeeps roaming around. 50% of the time we were...

    too many jeeps roaming around. 50% of the time we were searching for animals. at some occasions long long jams of jeeps trying to observe leopards and bears the park is beutiful but * jeeps number should be limited * we didnt see a leopard, saw elephants only once, saw a bear briefly only once - for 6 hours in the park we were disappointed

    We were extremely satisfied with the hotel and its beautiful surroundings. Everything exceeded our expectations. We took lots of photos & are sharing them with friends. The restaurants,Roof bar,Spa's and the pool side and pool is world class with out doubt! The service was outstanding, and that is something that can really make or break a vacation. Congratulations to the Super Proactive General Manager Mr Krishanta Damunupola and his team members to include Mr Seeman and Miss Sandani(Intern) for being so accommodating at all times with oodles of dedication. We also especially liked the super-comfy room with the balcony, bed linens which were very high quality, and felt so good to slip into each night. Thanks so much for a lovely visit.We'll be singing your praises for a long time. Thanks!
