If you like to gamble. If you want that Nevada experience, but not the crowds of Vegas. Laughlin is the place for you. The Avi was perfect. The rooms are not fancy, but the beds are great. The food was good, and the casino was cozy. The kids had a ball as well.
Laughlin isn't as frenetic as Vegas. Nights are quiet, river is peaceful and gaming is plentiful without the crowds of Vegas. There is a time difference between Nevada (Laughlin) and Arizona (Bullhead City) across the river of 1 hour.
It was our first time visiting Vegas for pleasure. We don't drink and we gamble very little but we found Vegas isn't all about gambling and drinking. We found it to be safe and there are many things to do or see. I wish Canadians were as friendly and nice to chat with as the people of Nevada.
A must see is the Wetlands, and of course Hoover dam with the city that built the dam Boulder city ,the only city in Nevada that still does not allow gambling. This charming city will relax you and you'll forget all about that gambling.
Colorado river is the only thing of value on the Nevada side. Everything thing else should be destroyed and rebuilt! Utter filth ! Food sucked If you’re not 80 yrs old, have to ride a scooter, while having to haul your own oxygen tank and smoke a complete carton of cigarettes every hour and sit in the most disgusting, vile places and throw your money away if this is you’re idea of a good time, then by all means go to Laughlin. Seriously regret not taking any photos, but look’em up there online, bed bugs and all.
Reno has very much suffered from the Indian casinos taking away their once thriving business. It shows in many ways, starting with a run down feeling of the city and hotels. But, being that there is only a few places in Nevada worth staying at. Reno is a good choice.
In Vegas for 8 days 7 nights...took a road trip around the Grand Canyon in the middle of the trip. Highly recommend renting a vehicle and getting out of the city if you are staying for more than a couple days. Nevada, Arizona and Utah are stunningly beautiful if you are into hiking and the outdoors. Las Vegas the city has so many things to offer as well but it is all very expensive.
There’s more to Reno than the casinos. Highly rate the Nevada Museum of Art, beautiful Riverwalk, and many nice public art. Good restaurants nearby especially La Famiglia across the river.
The Virgin River Casino resort was an absolute bargain for accommodation. We enjoyed the Casino and the dining facilities. A good stop over for those entering or leaving Nevada,.
Easy to get about city. Many things to do besides the casinos. Many good restaurants, Mario's Portofino, Naan and Kabob, Opas, Black Bear Diner, Great Basin Brewing, Bavarian World, Homage Bakery. Riverwalk, Idlewild Park, Galena Creek Park, the Nevada Museum, UNR museum,

this rating is highly taking into consideration the low price point. we were on a very tight budget with our trip and comparing this hotel to others in the same price bracket, it exceeded our expectations, wich is basically clean room and most of the stuff works. the room was in fact very clean and everything worked in the room. my partner had a former career as a cleaning staff manager at a few different properties in southern nevada and nothing gets by her as far as cleaning goes and the staff here was on thier game.

After staying in a Holiday Inn Express in Kanab, Utah and having our expectations exceeded, we booked a king suite at the Holiday Inn Express in Mesquite, Nevada for our return trip a week later. The pool was cloudy, the room definitely needed some upgrading and some of the staff were helpful, the others were indifferent or didn't speak English. The king bed was comfortable, which was a plus. The breakfast was fine. But I would not recommend this particular location.

The people who run the place were very friendly & helpful. The cottage was clean and cozy, and had everything we (2 people), needed. It had a user-friendly kitchen, and a small dining room table. It also had an electric fireplace, which took less than 5 minutes, on it's own, to make the cottage warm. For us, the location, on Stateline Ave, was ideal. The perfect jumping-off point. You're right on the border between California, and Nevada.

Steak house was good, it did take a hotel manager to get us in to have dinner. No one from restaurant answered phone or acknowledged us, til we got seated. Waiter was super nice, had an accent and very honest on food selections. Will eat there again. Hotel room always nice, cozy. Karaoke with Larry on Sundays is always a fun treat and love to entertain the guests. This is our little home away from home destination hotel in Nevada :)

We are in Winnemucca Nevada what do you expect ! If you think you're going to get a five star W this is not your place however for Winnemucca this was a really nice stay the Irish lady at the front desk was a treat and her explanation of the grand breakfast we were going to have build up anticipation. It was less than expected however where in Winnemucca go figure I would stay here again without hesitation

It is a unique place, having nothing in common with traditional hotels. It is an old-school B&B, with beautiful house and interiors, and even more beautiful garden and surroundings. Plenty of cool stuff for younger kids there, both in the house and outside. The owners are great folks, and the breakfast is delicious. Hope to be back to Nevada and visit this place again in the future.

The front desk clerk was friendly and efficient. He wrote down the WiFi access code without my having to ask. The facilities were clean. I brought my own food as was relieved to find the fridge smelled fresh. The room was quiet and restful. This is my company's hotel of choice for overnight stays in Elko, Nevada.

After having stayed in a Carson City hotel earlier in the week, I was unpleasantly prepared for a smoke filled hotel since this was also in Nevada. I was quite surprised to find this hotel entirely smoke-free, clean and quite nice. Thanks to the staff who did a great job for us!

The décor was eye catching and really brought on smiles. This century-old hotel was thoughtfully refurbished. We will certainly stay and dine there again on our next trip down that way. For such a small town - Tonapah, Nevada has a great mining history to explore. We'll

Great shower. Rooms were clean. Patio off of room made it nice. Close to all the Sparks Nevada happenings as it is on the same street as several casinos, downtown, and the convention center. New owners are putting in new carpeting and paint.

Accomodations were spacious and clean; great value for the money. Outstanding location at Stateline Nevada-very convenient. Had an outdoor BBQ that we used both nites. Staff was very pleasant and accomodating. I would definitely stay again!

The place was well worth the money. I left a blanket and inquired about how to get it back, the company has yet to respond. This hotel is in Reno, Nevada. I’m from California and would like that blanket back.

Very nice rooms. Only complaint was smelling cigarette smoke in the restaurant. It seems that they still, allow smoking inside in Nevada. Room was fresh and clean. Excellent accommodation.

Probably the best hotel in central Nevada on the drive from Phoenix to Southern Oregon. Clean, large room, friendly staff. Casino restaurant was handy, open late, and pretty good.

Hotel Nevada has been on our route for years, it's 11 hours from Denver by car and about 12 or so from the west coast. Highway 50 is a pleasent drive!

All non-smoking rooms are a real plus in Nevada. We were towing an auto and having space in the parking lot to turn around was a real plus.

Location near Nevada Beach. The hotel was fine, older and in need of some maintenance outside but a great deal for the price.

Fairly large complex with hotel, restaurant, and the usual (for Nevada) casino.
