Loved our stay here - even changed our plans to stay an extra day. The guesthouse is only 20 minutes from Kaito, with a direct train running to Otsu. The guesthouse was so authentic - with a lovely zen garden. The breakfast is a must - we had a traditional Japanese breakfast with salmon, rice and associated condiments. The staff were wonderful - made so many great recommendations - a fabulous local restaurant - great food and amazingly friendly staff. And suggested we go to the beach (on the lake) for a very chilled day. And even dropped us at the train.

Truly beautiful and such exceptional service! The amenities are wonderful and the location couldn’t be more perfect. The breakfast was great and fulfilling with a collection of Japanese and western food. The hotel does a free walking tour around the neighborhood with a local guide every Wednesday and Friday I believe which is such a lovely way to start your visit in Kyoto! Theres also a free shuttle to and from Kyoto station with multiple times every day. The public bath is so great and serene with all the amenities you need in it (towels, hair brushes, face wash/makeup remover, cotton ear buds, lockers to keep your things, a water dispenser, hairdryers, plastic hair covers… etc). Such a wonderful and unforgettable stay truly worth the price!

The staff was excellent! They were exceptionally professional, kind, and proactive. The room was very comfortable, and the food was pretty good. The location is great, being in front of a small creek that has cherry trees that are fully blossomed, making it a perfect location for Sakura viewing without crowds. It's also 10 minutes by foot from Kyoto Station, and many of the bus lines that go to the most popular attractions.

The hotel has easy access to the main train station which allowed us to do our day trips to Nara very easily. Excellent access to city Metro. Excellent underground shopping and restaurants. The room was very nice, clean, beds were comfy. Good breakfast. But the most impressive was the incredibly helpful staff. The staff helped us obtain tickets to the World Expo and went above and beyond helping us with that. EXCELLENT STAFF!!!!!!
