The Takenoya boutique hotel was like home away from home. The location is central to everything including train station. Loved the amazing products and amenities, the use of the Yukata, and spa. But more importantly is the amazing staff! They were so kind and helpful. The whole family with 3 teenagers loved it!

The room was great. A really well done building, and really really cool to be on an old shopping street (shotengai) in Osaka. It is really easy to get to from Kansai Airport on the Nankai line, and also, really easy to get into the city center from there. It's a little bit of a walk from Tengachaya station, but it's also nice to walk through an old neighborhood in the city. There are a lot of good old coffee shops (kissaten) around which is really fun to visit for coffee and the old western style 'morning set' and also some small local restaurants and pubs. Next time we would like to try the Japanese morning set at the hotel, which looks delicious.

Loved it, so quaint they had an amazing massage chair massages even your arms and feet. Rooms had humidifiers and snacks and fragrance humidifier. Staff so fun, they were out shopping when I checked in but came back in like 4 min. I loved it so homey and amazing value and good energy. Also super clean, towels come in brand new bags.

Kaneyoshi Ryokan gives you the 'Japanese sleeping experience' with tatami room, tea, and a public bath. At the height of summer, no one was using the bath, so I had it to myself. The ryokan's location is fantastic for enjoying the night life of Doton-duri street. The staff are concerned for guests and were patient and thorough in explaining everything we wanted to know.

Really comfortable room - we loved the tatami flooring and futons, and the layout was great with the separated window room looking out over the river. Comfiest pillows of the whole holiday (we stayed in 5 hotels over 3 weeks). The location was ideal, though maybe not great if you have children with you. The onsen was fabulous - I am quite heavily tattooed and they had no problem with it all, so it was the only onsen I had the opportunity to use during my holiday.

Location is fantastic, just minutes away from Dotonburi, and the actual ryokan is very clean, has many amenities as well as an authentic Japanese experience for the cost. They also provide Yukatas, and have your futon set up for you which is a big plus.

Of course the onsen, but also the breakfast room, which looked very friendly and open. The breakfast itself was very good as well, especially nice as it was a traditional breakfast - as well as traditionally served. The room was nice, but of course traditionally small as a Japanese room with futons. We got exactly what we expected as a "typical Japan experience"

We wanted to experience a ryokan so booked this place. It wasn't quite what we had imagined since it's a huge place. The rooms are very large and had futons that were laid out at night. We opted for the traditional breakfast in the morning, which was fine though not extraordinary. The location is good, on the canal just across the street from a lively area with tons of restaurants and shops.

Absolutely lovely stay in an authentic ryokan. The welcome treats, yukata (bathrobe), and bath slippers provided were sweet, homey touches. The in-house onsen was a great way to end a long day and unwind.

Excellent location, had view over Dotonburi River which was stunning at night! Very comfy futons, large room for two people, tea and yukata nightwear provided, good sized bathroom, working AC, fridge for keeping drinks/food cool, lifts worked well, everything very clean and staff friendly! Not a bad thing to say, the perfect stay in a ryokan style room and at an excellent price!
