Best Western Amsterdam, hotel in Amsterdam

Best Western Amsterdam is located in Amsterdam West district, just off the A10 city ring and 20 minutes' by public transport from the old city centre.

I've stayed at Best Western for a week two times. It is a serviceable hotel with spacious room, a desk and minibar. The cleaning service was good and staff is friendly. Location is really good since there is a lot of commerce around the hotel - several supermarkets, restaurants and other services. It is also well connected to the tram and metro, tram being the fastest way to city center.

The Best Culture and Nightlife this Side of a Canal

Jump on your city bike or hop on a canal boat and admire Amsterdam, the Venice of the North! The beautiful city houses, romantic bridges, iconic canals and street cafés create its unique atmosphere and give you an ultimate taste of its fascinating past.

Famous for its museums, most important of which are located in the Museumplein, Amsterdam offers you a chance to see unforgettable masterpieces by Rembrandt, Van Gogh, Mondriaan and more. The Anne Frank House is a sobering reminder of the city’s more recent history. After a lot of walking, the Rijksmuseum is a great place to rest and get some extra culture before visiting Amsterdam’s lovely Vondelpark.

The medieval Old Centre with the always busy Dam Square and the tempting Red Light District is the most visited part of Amsterdam. Make sure to stop at Leidseplein and Rembrandtplein, homes to the best nightlife venues.

Shop till you drop at Amsterdam’s most luxury shopping street, PC Hooftstraat, the most popular street market at Albert Cuyp or in the fancy design shops of the Jordaan district. Famous pancakes and frites with mayonnaise are a must-try! The more adventurous traveller might want to try the pickled herring, followed closely by a local beer.

All these attractions are just a short train ride from the Amsterdam’s Schiphol Airport. Whether you want to stay at a cosy hotel on a canal, a modern apartment in a quiet part of the city or a room in the centre of everything, Booking.com has a perfect accommodation for your Amsterdam vacation.

Amsterdam is a beautiful city and I would have liked to stay longer. Transport to other cities such as Rotterdam and Utrecht is easy and convenient. The cafe culture is very enjoyable and the city is very multicultural while maintaining a Dutch cultural feel. For music lovers the Concertgebouw with its marvellous acoustics is not to be missed. I had a very delicious and authentic chicken biriyani down the road from there. Dutch customer service is quite unique.

Amsterdam is compact and easy to get around by foot or public transport. It has many attractions for all tastes. The cosmopolitan and tolerant attitude in Amsterdam is unique and in my view works well for all. It is a pricey city for everything but everyone knows it before they travel. It tries very very hard to keep the streets clean working through the night but the sheer numbers of people leads to much litter in places. I also was hurt/upset to see homeless people raking through bins. On the other hand you see great sights of the coming together of people for fun, laughter and good vibes and care for each other. I love Amsterdam for the good the bad and the ugly.

This was my third visit to Amsterdam and I like the city very much. The people are friendly and everyone speaks some English, which is helpful. The city is quite beautiful and there are too many things to do. However, if you are mobility challenged, getting around might be more difficult than you'd expect. In particular, restaurant bathrooms, which are frequently at the bottom of long, narrow, winding sets of stairs. This is true even if Google Maps says they are handicapped friendly.

Amsterdam was even more than I expected.

Amsterdam was even more than I expected. Such a walkable city, but also offers an excellent transportation system if you prefer. You'll have the opportunity to see so many beautiful historical districts, with hundreds of cafes, restaurants, attractions, beautiful canals everywhere. There a great vibe in the air, day and night and most of all if feels very safe as a visitor. Not to forget visiting the countryside and the Amsterdam windmills reachable by train or bus and just 30/40minutes away form the city.

Fantastic place, been multiple times before.

Fantastic place, been multiple times before. Be very careful late at night as this particular time I was robbed and injured. Travelling without bank cards is very difficult and I was nearly stranded due to the way the metro / sprinter tap on / off system works. Consider leaving one of your cards at your accommodation in case of emergencies. Don’t go to shady places at 3am or make yourself a target and you will be fine. Some fantastic bars and attractions - make a Dutch friend and they will take you to some of the less touristy secrets.

Use the tram system, taxi's in town are unreliable.

Use the tram system, taxi's in town are unreliable. Don't bother going to the Maritime museum, it is actually an overpriced art gallery. Do however take a boat tour, very interesting and informative. Visit the small bar/restaurants away from the tourist areas (down the side streets), they are really very good with excellent food. Be prepared to do a fair amount of walking, always lots to see on every turn.

We arrived very early in Amsterdam and were able to access our room much earlier than expected. The staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The advance assistance by WhatsApp was also very useful. There's a very good breakfast buffet. The hotel is located a little way from the city centre, but is quieter as a result. Also, there are good bus connections right outside the hotel and the walk into town through Westerpark is very nice - there are also plenty of cafes and places to eat around there.

The location of the hotel couldn't be better! Step outside the hotel and you have the tram stop that takes you straight into city centre and also to the Museumplein. It is also within walkable distance to Amsterdam Central Station. Walk right next to the alley of the hotel and you'll reach the main shopping and food street! What a steal!

The building is great and also the neighbourhood. There is a room the guests can use to have breakfast or dinner that you buy in the bakery, supermarket, or restaurants you can find in the streets by the hotel. The hotel is near the area of the museums, and near the city centre of Amsterdam, you can go strolling. The staff is very kind.
