Very helpful staff, great facilities & décor, location is just off the coast & cliff paths with access below the tennis courts. Room was made up every day & very clean. Wi-Fi required registration then worked well.

The Imperial Hotel Exmouth, hotel in Dawlish

An elegant Victorian landmark, The Imperial Hotel lies in 4 acres of grounds on Exmouth’s Esplanade, with beautiful views of the south Devon coast.

The location was excellent, the bed was really comfortable, but possibly the room is looking a little tired. I did not have breakfast. The staff were really lovely. I had a very enjoyable stay

Orestone Manor, hotel in Dawlish

Overlooking Lyme Bay, Orestone Manor is located in Maidencombe, just 4 miles from Torquay, and features a restaurant, bar, garden and terrace.

Very peaceful location in lush grounds. All food excellent and the restaurant fully deserves its star rating. Hotel beautifully appointed. Several rooms are on second floor up steep steps - and no lift. Comes with the territory of the hotel being a quirky Victorian villa

Great seaside town - lots of great walks nearby but it is well worth checking out the busses (single is currently a flat £2 anywhere). Has a lot of memories for me as my grandparents lived in Dawlish. While here consider a trip to Paignton Zoo - about a 30 minute drive or you can get the train or bus (33 goes Dawlish Warren to Paignton). Forest Fungi (https://forestfungi.co.uk/) is well worth a visit (farm shop/mushroom farm & café) & a must if you love mushrooms.

We chose Dawlish as an over-night stop whilst completing a few legs of the South West Coast path. Walking along the iconic coastline, with the train line just metres away on one side and the sea on the other was amazing - especially when the trains were passing! You can't say Dawlish doesn't have excellent train links! The town itself is based around 'The Lawn', with plenty of places for eating and shops around the perimeter of this centre piece. Just a short walk away to the east is Dawlish Warren, with amusements and plenty of beach front. As a base for walking, Dawlish is an ideal place to 'set up camp' with a variety of holiday parks, hotels and B&B's to choose from. We chose an old and charming little cottage just 2 minutes walk from the 'Lawn' called 1 Laurel Cottage (highly recommended for what we required, with the also very charming and knowledgable Ginkgo as the host!). There are plenty of options around the town to eat in the evening, as well as a good selection of bakeries and cafe's for breakfast - don't be put off with the lack of breakfast in the Laurel Cottage, it literally is 2 minutes walk from the Lawn! We ate in the Thai restaurant 'Sticky Rice' that evening and left with very full bellies, in the morning we picked up coffee and pastries from one of the bakeries and sat on The Lawn to eat them, before carrying on our walk.

We liked the fact the trains were constant throughout the day to be able to travel along the coast . What we didn’t like about Dawlish , not enough restaurants open in evening to have a varied meal .

The check in was swift and on time. The grounds are extensive and very well maintained. It's a pleasure to sit on the lawn and look out to sea. The Hotel is spotlessly clean and kept to a high standard. It is a short walk down the hotel drive to a bus stop that can take you in to both Dawlish or Dawlish Warren. Dawlish Warren beach is down a steep hill and takes around five minutes to walk to. This was perfect for me as i arrived on the train and didn't have transport whilst i was there.

Close to the beach, right by bus stops (with frequent buses to Dawlish & Teignmouth). Seating area in the beautiful garden. The weather was great, so we took full advantage of it. Late check out at noon was a nice touch! While there’s no hob, there is an electric multicooker, a slow cooker and a microwave with grill function.

Location, mid-way between Dawlish and Dawlish Warren. Was allowed to check in early which was appreciated. The kitchen was huge with all the mod cons. The top bedroom was amazing, great views of the sea. Lounge very comfortable. Great chinese takeaway close to the property.

Excellent location and view. Easy walk down to Dawlish Warren. Decking being fully enclosed was a positive for our pet dog.
