Walking distance (20 min) from Lake Titicaca. Lots of foreigners were staying there at the same time as us. There is a heater in the room. There is also a safe in the room. The bathroom has a bathtub which was really nice because of how cold it was. They also give free coca tea and hot water. They also packed our breakfast for us because we had to catch a bus to the airport early morning.

The personal service and attention is absolutely great. Despite the hotel not being the newest anymore, we really enjoyed our stay and the room came with all the necessary (incl. portable heater). Unlike in other Peruvian cities we never had issues with hot water or the wifi, everything worked perfectly. The value for money is great!

Puno is awesome. In addition to visiting the Uros community and other areas of Lake Titicaca, it is also a great small town with amazingly friendly and helpful people. The one problem, though, is altitude sickness.

Puno is a great city.
Puno is a great city. I like the view on the lake and the Uros/Taquile Islands. I would go back in a heart beat.
The city itself is easy to access but due to higher elevation, I could only walk very short distances before being tired.

It is worth going to the lake in Puno since it is the highest navigable lake in the world and is also unique because of the islands made of reed. It was interesting seeing the lifestyles of the people living on these lakes. The food served as part of the tour was good, but getting to the restaurant was challenging since the climb up to the restaurant was quite steep. The overall experience was very good.

Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands.
Access to Lake Titicaca, Uros, Amantani & Taquile islands. The city itself is not very interesting, nice main square with a cathedral and few goods restaurants (Mojsa at the bottom of the Main square was really excellent, full of international travelers...). Did not have much time to climb on the nearby hills to have a panoramic view of the Puno & Titicaca. Spent two-day / one-night trip to Uros / Amantani / Taquile islands (overnight at Amantani with a local family), very interesting and very down-to-earth, but we all enjoyed the boat trip, Uros, dancing in local costumes & sunset from the top of Amantani (made it with our 8-year old daughter), as well as the next day at Taquile island. The following night we spent at Uros with Felix (Uros Amaru Marka Lodge) was excellent !

We wanted to come for the cultural experiences of the uro peoples but we saw a people who are abusing tourism to live. We were overcharged at every occurrence from transportation, housing, souvenirs, food etc. It left a bad taste in our mouths. We wish we would have spent time in other places in Peru.

Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small.
Keep in mind that Puno, the town itself, is small. They don't have the artensans or activities that other large towns like Cuzco may have, so if you don't care to visit the floating islands of Uros, you may not want to make the trip.
The lobby and breakfast areas were very nice. The room was clean and the bed comfortable. The shower had good hot water. The breakfast had a nice selection of fruit and other breakfast foods. We arrived in Puno early on the bus, and our tour wanted to pick us up at our hotel. We were booked at the hotel for the next night, but the hotel welcomed us in, let us hang out in the lobby, for 3 hours, let us eat breakfast (we paid 15 soles), and then stored our luggage for us until we returned the next day! They were so nice!
Very good place, even though it is not especially cheap. Very good location, almost exactly at Plaza the Armas, but it is a more quiet street. Kind staff, spoke perfect english. There was an electric space heater!! Very useful, because during winter at night to have almost freezing remperatures in Puno. Breakfast was lovely. Nice comfy bed, very spaceous room with a balcony, and it was quiet (although hardly any guests when we visited). Hot shower. Ot even has a small "business center". All in all, a very good Hotel.
Staying at Sariri Lodge was one of the most interesting experiences of our trip to Peru and Bolovia.
We were warmly welcomed by Isaac and his wife. They did everything to help us feeling confortable.
The boat trip and fishing trip with Isaac (included in the price) is even better than the standard tours to Taquile or to Isla del Sol. I loved every moment here.
The room is clean, spacious, with the best sunset view.
Dinner and breakfast were excellent.
The owner is a great guy. He works hard to keep the place clean and functioning well. I saw him clean the stairs while I was there.
The shared bathroom have nice hot water, great after a 2 day trip around Lake titicaca.
The beds a comfy with warm covers, the temperature is volatile in Puno.
Right next to the bus station, perfect location.
He was very helpful in helping me navigate good restaurants in Puno. What a great guy
Great location, VERY comfortable firm beds. Not a luxury accommodation, but served the purpose of a good nights sleep before heading off to other hotel in the area. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Shower didn't drain very well, so was more like a bath tub, but for one night was fine. Breakfast was as expected. Similar vibe to Courtyard or Fairfield Inn in the US.
What an unusual hotel, which was perfect for me. As always, the staff were so helpful, and the breakfast delicious. There are unusual decorations, and it feels really like “old Peru” to stay there. I would definitely return.
I hope the very helpful teenager is enjoying my Jacket I left behind deliberately! And gratefully.
Lovely wake-up knock, and delicious breakfast.
One of the best travel experiences we ever had. I mean ever, not only in Peru and we have traveled a lot! There is no better way to experience Titicaca than staying with a family who has lived on the floating islands for generations. Amalia Lodge was exactly that. Everything was carefully thought through, clean, nicely furnished, comfortable and very very tranquil.
The lady at reception was so welcoming and accommodating. Organised tours and also the boat to Bolivia to leave Peru due to state of emergency. It was almost impossible to move anywhere.
The breakfast was fine, always coca tea at reception. This is definitely one of the better places I have stayed in this price range. The location was perfect.
Staff were fantastic, so helpful and friendly. Breakfast was classic Peru hostel but with eggs!! Which was great. Wifi was very reliable and the room was quite spacious. The hostel is about 15 minute walk from the main plaza which suited us fine and we walked back from there even after midnight with no issues. Great value for money.
Located on pedestrian only street, close to the main plaza. Many restaurants within easy walk. There was a parade during our stay and we were able to watch it from the common balcony. Breakfast was good, with view of lake Titicaca from the 10th floor. Staff was super nice and helpful in arranging transport and helping with luggage.
I got a twin room with a private bathroom with breakfast included (a simple ham or cheese sandwich with tea) for the price of a dormitory bed at most places in Peru. The owners are also very friendly and helpful, they have a tour agency with the hostel that offers the lowest price I could find for tours in Puno. Would recommend!
Eddy and his family, including their dog, were so friendly and helpful. The shuttle service they provided was really punctual and the food was nicer than a lot of restaurants we have eaten in in Peru. The room was huge, the bed was comfy and the toilet was clean! The outdoor veranda was absolutely surreal for sunset.
The hotel is very central, just facing the main square of Puno, Plaza de Armas. The staff speaks English, which is not that common in Peru, even in hotels and other facilities for tourists. Good breakfast, good size of the room with another rarity in the Peruvian accomodation system: a heater!
Beautiful view of Puno Bay. restaurant was good; breakfast was varied; beds comfortable and room and bath very spacious. Although hotel is away from downtown, like a 10 min. ride, taxis are available or can be arranged at at low cost. reception desk is very efficient.
The staff were great. My daughter got sick and they had a doctor come in 20 mins. Resturant was wo derful. Breakfast amazing. Best spot in Puno with balcony looking over the plaza. Heating was great and good hot water
THE VERY BEAUTIFUL HOTEL, A WARM ROOM, VERY RESPECTFUL ATTENTION, HELPED ME A LOT IN MY STAY, I RECOMMEND IT TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO STAY IN PUNO PERU. WONDERFUL AND THANK YOU HOTEL CESAR FOR THE GOOD STAY
Located just next to Plaza de Armas, the hotel features very comfy, cozy, spacious, and clean rooms. Breakfast was excellent - the best I ever had in Peru. The WiFi worked well too
Perfect and magical, the highlight of our staying in Peru. Sleeping on a floaty island is a unique experience. Edar and his family made us feeling at home. Really recommended.
