Rome is basically a massive open-air museum - there's relics and excavations on every street. Everywhere you go, there's interesting buildings to look at, and you will never be short of good places to eat - the food is amazing. The big problems are those of any busy city that is very old - it is imperceptibly busy, the streets are extremely narrow, and all cobbled, so you get jostled around everywhere, have to dodge cars driving up these tiny streets, & you're constantly trying not to roll your ankle. There's also street hawkers EVERYWHERE trying to sell you stuff you don't want and certainly don't need - some of them will give you something (such as a rose) and claim that it's a gift but then when you walk off, they demand money for it. What should be an enjoyable city to walk around is totally spoilt by the sheer volume of people. I can only advise that you get up and out right at the crack of dawn to see places before they get unpleasantly busy. There is also a lot of renovation work going on which makes the place even harder to get around.

Guided tour of the Vatican City and Sistine chapel was fabulous. Informative and made the most of a whistle stop visit which could otherwise have been overwhelming. The best way to get around is to walk as there are so many beautiful buildings , shops and restaurants hidden round every corner and the traffic is appalling! Favourite eating out experiences was at Ai Trei Scaleni in Monti which was a bustling wine bar with food that you could order like tapas . We sat at the bar but there were tables too and a very lively atmosphere

We didn't get to see any of the "traditional" tourist attractions but our stay was incredible anyway. We walked a lot and saw the Jewish Holocaust Museum, saw fountains and churches/cathedrals. We loved walking by the river and exploring some of the parks. Rome is a busy exciting city. We can't wait to visit again.

Love exploring Rome.
Love exploring Rome. I have been to Rome several times and always find something new to explore. Rome has so much to offer that one trip is not enough. After the main attractions were explored you need to head to the side streets and lesser explored areas. A professional guide is a must to really learn about all the history, otherwise you are just looking at a bunch of old buildings and ruins and miss out on all the history.

Rome is very busy but there is lots to see!
Rome is very busy but there is lots to see! It's very easy to get around on public transport, tourists spots are very crowded. I would not stay in the centre as it's very noisy. So much to see!!! We stayed for 5 nights (with kids) could have styed longer but it was nice to leave the busy city. Vatican was our favourite part. We stayed about 20 mins away from Vatican city, it was so quiet and not a tourist part which was really nice. Hop on hop off bus is so good with kids. There was still so much that we didn't get to see but you can't see it all with kids, they get very tired!

Rome is a wonderful city, full of splendid historical monuments and buildings. It was extremely busy, making if difficult to access many of the attractions so I’d recommend researching the least busy times of year to visit.
The staff here has the best customer service I've ever received in my entire life. They welcomed us like we've been long-time friends. They showed us a map of Rome with places to see and eat. This was the first time staying in a "boutique" hotel and was an amazing experience. The rooms were clean and nice with everything in working order. It is walking distance from the Vatican City and an easy bus ride into the busy tourist areas. Check out this hotel if you plan on staying in Rome.
This is definitely a rare find! The staff treated us like we were kings and queens and the bed was extra comfortable and the best part of our stay was the breakfast! In all of my trips to Italy, I have never eaten italian cornetti (croissant) that were that good! I’m always traveling for work and it is the first time that I can say that a hotel is definitely cheaper than what they should actually charge! I really recommend this place to anyone who is visiting Rome!
This guesthouse was one of the best places I stayed in during my trip to Italy. The hosts were very kind and responsive. The guesthouse is located a few minutes from the Vatican and it is also close to the subway so you can easily access other sites within Rome from here. There are also some very nice restaurants nearby. The guesthouse was very clean and tastefully decorated. They had. kettle, tea and a coffee machine in the room. I would high recommend it.
If you are a tourist visiting Rome, this is probably the best location you can get. Besides that, whole hotel is a 5 star experience. Very cosy, pleasant, clean. Staff very polite, they are always smiling and greeting you, and you feel very welcome and nice. Reception staff very helpfull. Room was big, spacious, perfectly clean.
Will definitly come back.
The breakfast was amazing, after staying in 3 hotels previously to arriving at this one in Italy the breakfast exceeded all the other hotels. The staff were so friendly and helpful, nothing was to much bother, they all spoke English. Will definitely stay here again next time in Rome.
