Our Rome travels were fist time for our three gran kids.
Our Rome travels were fist time for our three gran kids. Great experience learning so much and tons of walking. In June Rome is packed but having been there before we did not feel crushed. Also seems Rome and Florence where ewe also went have cleaned up their cities a lot. We had not issues with pick pockets or begging although it was around. Just protect your belongings and look around.
Frankly the worst place to get lunch is in the square near the Vatican. Fair amount of begging and homelessness. That consider friendly we only saw one small car accident.
Side Note: FYI We arrived in Rome airport via London on British Airways and it went well even thous the lost on bag in transfer. Coming into custom at Rome airport our one gran daughter is age 13 and half. Thus the computer scanner for passports she could not use. My wife and here were required to wait in the regular line to clear customs over a 2 and half hour wait. This caused us to miss our precooked transfer to out hotel. NUTS. Italian system is backwards.
Oh the Italian train system went on strike as well so we never got to Venice.

Rome is a wonderful place.
Rome is a wonderful place. The Tourist destinations are awesome. Italian food taste Amazing especially the pasta. When it comes to transporation its easy there is Metro and Bus. However for future travellers you really need to be extra careful with the pickpockets especially in Metro. For improvements maybe they can work a little on cleanliness, safety and discipline.
In addition if your not used with warm weather try not to visit during summer its hot like we experience unti 40 degrees.

Roma is an amazing city, full of history and great places to enjoy great food and drinks. The places you must visit as follows: The Colosseum, Piazza di Spagna (Spanich steps), Trastevere neighborhood at night time (the atmosphere is just amazing). Mouth of truth (bocca della verita), St. Peter's Basilica, The Vatican, Musei Vaticani, Fontana Di Trevi. I also recommend you trying Italian Gelato's, my favorite Gelateria is Old Bridge (the one opposite to Musei Vaticani)

We stayed at The Major for the last day of our southern Italy trip prior to flying home from Rome. The room was great—plenty of space, large bathroom. Staff was very helpful.
Breakfast was served at the rooftop restaurant which was a lovely picturesque al fresco experience.
Very convenient (10 minute walk) from Roma Termini, which was great for us since we arrived by train from Napoli and left via the Leonardo Express to FCO.
Very comfortable hotel in the rail station area—which typically can be a little "hit or miss".
The location was perfect. It was our first time in Italy and our first stop was Rome. The Trevi Fountain is pretty central to the other landmarks for sight-seeing, so it was not too far of a walk and we could stop back in the hotel throughout the day. The included Breakfast exceeded our expectations, a good spread and you could sit on their rooftop terrace overlooking the Trevi Fountain. It was a bit difficult to locate when we first got there, but otherwise, highly recommend!
Monica was truly an amazing and responsive owner. Breakfast was served promptly in the room, and if we were leaving ahead of breakfast time, she left it in our room the night before. The bed was the most comfortable bed we had during our entire stay in Italy. (During our stay we were in 8 different accommodations.) Located less than a block from the train station and metro, it was very central to many big-ticket locations in Rome.

(the hotel receptionists), our first 4 days in Italy were great. They are very nice people, very friendly and very helpful.
The hotel itself is also very good and exactly as described in the booking site. The price is very reasonable to such a good hotel with a parking, an excellent location and very good breakfast.
If I come to Rome again, certainly I’ll choose this hotel.
Excellent location in the historic center. You can walk to every major monument and plazas (5-15 minutes). Get the breakfast, excellent value for the buffet. If you haven’t been in Italy before, and Europe for that matter, keep in mind that this is the “Old World”: Hotels in the historic centers are old, so don’t expect large rooms with large bathrooms. You get just enough space to get clean and rest. Go out and enjoy Rome!
We had to book this room at the last minute because a train strike in Italy forced a change in our plans. The best part was the helpful host, Sergio, who deserves a better place to work. The room was uncomfortable, hot (the air conditioning didn't work) and smelled of bleach. The hotel is in a grubby area of Rome, near the train station, that felt unsafe at night. We left as soon as we could the next morning.
This is an absolutely fantastic boutique hotel in Monti. It is located very conveniently in Rome and the rooms are gorgeous and a decent size for Italy. Above all however, the staff are absolutely amazing. They all went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. It felt like they were welcoming us into their home, rather than a hotel. We can’t wait to come back!
Small boutique hotel, very clean and nicely decorated with everything needed for a great weekend in Rome. The location is good and it was difficult to find a thing we didn't like. Maybe only the bed can be a bit better (a bit short for very high people).
The owner, Staffano, is absolutely the best! So nice and helpful, really cares and gives a feeling of home.
1) location - within easy waking distance of Termini train station
2) large room with best shower of seven hotels in Italy
3) friendly helpful staff, especially excellent cleaning staff
4) beautiful secluded garden area with cafe tables for outdoor snacking and breakfast
5) quiet room and hotel halls
6) reasonable price made it a good value for Rome
Hotel was located within easy reach of Roma Termini station and walking distance to all major attractions and restaurants.
Luigi was so friendly and very helpful and made us feel very welcome, not only to the hotel but Rome, giving a good representation of Italy. Would definitely stay again when next in Rome.
You can clearly see the dome of Basilica Papale di Santa Maria Maggiore through the windows.
That should explain everything about the view.
Restaurants/cafe's nearby are decent as well.
On top of all, this place is only about 5mins walk from the Rome Termini, which is the gateway to all of Italy.
We stayed at H10 Palazzo Gala on the last night of a two week vacation in Italy as we flew in/out of Rome. We only stayed one night. Th location is incredible. The staff ids friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable. The rooftop terrace provides a wonderful view of the city.
Excellent boutique like hotel with nice breakfast and great staff . The location was great , just in front of a bus station, a corner shop and one of the best gelato place. Very safe neighborhood as we were 2 ladies travelling. Would definitely come back to Deseo if in Rome again.
Both receptionists, Amin and a blonde lady (forgot her name). They are so helpful. They answered my questions politely if I wanted to get any info for traveling in Rome and Italy in general. Keep it up! 5 🌟🌟🌟🌟 Mr Amin can consider to be promoted..Best hotel ever! Thank you
We had great time at Peace of Rome. The hotel is close to the Vatican and City centre. Host was very nice, he recommended us what is worth to see and also recommended a public transport, which is the best to use. Room was tidy.
Hotel Maximus in Rome was one of the best hotels in Italy we stayed in.
The location was central and very clean. The breakfast was brilliant. Lots of variety. The staff could not have been more helpful and very polite. 10/10.
Everything!!! The apartment was beautiful!! Nicest place we stayed in Italy! The host was so accommodating- will stay again when we come back to Rome! Fabrizio was the perfect host! 10 out of 10!
The Staff were very welcoming and kind, VERY KIND.
Only Hotel in the whole of Italy, after we toured Rome, Florence, Venice & Milan, that had plenty of ice cubes 24/7.
Omar at the reception is a gem
