Rome is one of the the most amazing cities in Europe.
Rome is one of the the most amazing cities in Europe. The italians are also friendly but the tourist industry is not a complete sellout and Italians remain protective of their culture and country (as they should). It would be better if there was a way to curb the proliferation of street sellers

It was an excellent trip.
It was an excellent trip. The activities we booked were superb. We booked a concert - Vivaldi Four Seasons, and it was excellent. We enjoyed it a lot. We also booked a Segway tour of the city at night and it was probably the highlight of the trip. It was very beautiful to zoom by the monuments lit at night, and to be able to go up and down the hills on wheels. I would do segway tours from now on everywhere we go that is available. The Vatican Tour and the Colisseum Tour were also very nice, very informative, great tour guides, we did not feel rushed.

So many things to see and do!
So many things to see and do! Love the Hop on Hop of Red Bus, great way to get an overview. Don’t pass up a visit to the Vatican Museum, so many treasures there!
While Rome is a great part of Italy to see for all the history there, everyplace in Italy is wonderful.
Don’t miss any of it!
Levanto is especially lovely by the Cinque Terre, Montapulciano is captivating, Florence and Venice should not be missed either! You might have to make several trips! My next spot is the Dolomites and Lake Cuomo.

Rome, the Eternal City, had something for everyone in our 3 generation family. Museums, ruins, great dining, places of interest, shopping, markets, and more. I did a lot of research beforehand about transportation, advance tickets, good guides, avoiding lines and it all paid off. Do your homework before you go. Lots of FB sites have a wealth of info.

Not a safe place and overcrowded.
Not a safe place and overcrowded. I was stopped by someone who claimed to be a police, I couldn’t verify but he has a gun in his hip and a badge) who asked to see my ID and my money! He wanted to see my money! I obliged. A guy asked me to take his picture with his hotel behind him and I did then that police came seconds later. After the police sniffed all my money and examined my ID, he told me that are is full of Cocaine dealings and he only did his job to keep us ‘safe’ so I told him I didn’t feel safe from him to which he apologised and let me go. All major attractions were full. Advice: visit major attractions early morning.

The architecture, statues, and history are breathtaking.
The architecture, statues, and history are breathtaking. Incredible views at every turn. Piazza Novona was our favorite piazza because of the beauty and liveliness in the evening. Absolutely recommend early mornings and late evenings to get the best experience. Strolling the historic center late at night while the town is illuminated in a yellow glow is magical. We felt safe at every hour and location.
We stayed at The Major for the last day of our southern Italy trip prior to flying home from Rome. The room was great—plenty of space, large bathroom. Staff was very helpful.
Breakfast was served at the rooftop restaurant which was a lovely picturesque al fresco experience.
Very convenient (10 minute walk) from Roma Termini, which was great for us since we arrived by train from Napoli and left via the Leonardo Express to FCO.
Very comfortable hotel in the rail station area—which typically can be a little "hit or miss".
Residenza Maritti is a marvelous hotel. I have stayed here perhaps 20 times in the last 7 years or so, whilst living in Italy. It is quite simply one of the nicest places I have ever stayed at. The location is nothing short of spectacular; the staff and owners very kind and helpful; the rooms full of character and history as well as being spotlessly clean; the rooftop terrace has breathtaking views of ancient Rome. When I come to Rome, I always stay at Residenza Maritti. It is a wonderful place to enjoy the Eternal City from.
I spent my birthday weekend here (my first time in Italy) and everything was lovely! From the moment I arrived the nice lady at reception made sure to answer my questions, and even gave me recommendations on where to go in Rome (with a map). The suite itself was gorgeous and the location is beautiful. There are plenty of shops, cafes, and restaurants close to the hotel. I plan to visit Rome again next year and I will definitely consider booking here again. :)
We are definitely staying at this hotel for our next trip to Rome. Checkin was remote but very easy. The staff is so wonderful, friendly and speaks English fluently (after two weeks in Italy this was so welcoming!!). The room was clean and the bed was very comfortable. The area is nice, safe and in close proximity of the historical landmarks. Because it’s a business area (lots of bureaucrats) there are many good places for breakfast and lunch nearby.
The hotel was about a 5 minute walk from Termini Station, which has hourly busses to both airports as well as trains to all of Italy & Europe. The room had a king sized bed which was very comfortable as well as a mini fridge containing bottled water & mini chocolates. The manager was very helpful & escorted me to the room, showed its features as well as how to use the mini lift & the 3 keys for access to the hotel & room.
The hotel is in a great location only a few minutes walk from Roma Termini station. The staff are very helpful and friendly and there was a good selection at breakfast of both continental and cooked options. We stayed on two occasions on a recent trip to Italy and on our second stay we were upgraded free of charge to a junior suite which was very spacious. I would definitely stay here again on a future trip to Rome.
The host was very hospitable and friendly and he directed us to the best and nicest places in Rome! The room was in excellent condition and the hotel is in a perfect location. A bonus is that if you’re walking in to the city centre, you will walk past the most amazing Gelateria, Guttilla (definitely worth a try!) We will definitely be coming back and staying at Guest’s heaven if we are going back to Rome!
My son and I think this was the best hotel when we toured Italy, mainly because of the yummy breakfast included, great beds, clean room, walking distance to subway and shopping near Spanish Steps. Being from Canada, Paula, the desk hostess, who was professional, enthusiastic, greeted us with a smile, booked taxis, tickets, mapped out directions, and helped me pick out local Olive oil to bring home.
We booked this hotel after we had to extend our stay in Rome two extra days. The hotel has recently had a major overhaul with new elevators which actual stop on your floor. The AC was great and the rooms were very quite and comfortable. The location was next to the Roma Termini train station but the rooms were very quite. Highly recommend it traveling around Italy by train.
very modern hotel & room, exceptionally clean in a quiet area. The breakfast was amazing, with a lot of variety, both salty, sweet options and many fruits. The best breakfast I ever had in Italy. The people serving coffee are extremely nice.
Close to the subway station and several supermarkets.
The hotel has a sauna room that you can book for free all for yourself.
Friendly and helpful reception staff. Surprising fluffy and tasty croissants (for Italy) during breakfast. The location was very good, just across the US embassy and many 5* hotels - fairly easy to reach, away from the tourist noise but still reasonable distance to all key areas in Rome. Much appreciated that they could book us a hire car to take us to the airport.
Our room at Hotel Nazionale was by far the biggest and nicest of our stays in Italy. The rooms were large and very comfortable. I especially enjoyed the large, deep bathtub. The bed was also the most comfortable of our trip. The hotel staff was very nice, and teh location is great. You're within walking distance of all of the major sites in Rome.
We stayed here for 1 night in Rome before flying back home. The hotel was in a really useful location, just 5-10 mins walk from Rome Termini for the train to the airport. We did the same last time we visited Italy.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can leave luggage here once you have checked out.
Fantastic location, super friendly staff and the place has a very Italy/Boutique vibe to it. It's small, but so are most hotels in Rome. We've stayed in a few different places in Rome, and this was our favorite. It's also close to Termini without being TOO close, which gets a little grimy.
Fabulous hotel in great position in Rome. The most comfortable beds in Italy. No I am not kidding!! Great roof top bar/ breakfast area. Fabulous breakfast. What else, great shower too and product!! What more could you ask for. It's a perfect holiday right here!!
300 meters from Vatican museum, in front of building is a green market, can be loud, but this a Italy.planty of restaurants, street food, caffes, and what makes me happy, not that much tourists, on contrary of Rome center
Very short overnight stay at Kolbe hotel on our way out of Italy and Rome. Nice duplex room that the kids enjoyed staying at. Breakfast was good as well. Location was great too, it's right outside of the Roman Forum.
The breakfast was better than all hotels we stayed in Italy. I had fractured my ankle in Florence before arriving to Rome. I was wheelchair bound and The staff was so accommodating and friendly.
