This hotel is about a 20 minute can ride from
The Vatican and other major attractions.
The fare is about 14 euros but the cab driver charged us 38 euros for the return journey . Completely conned us snd it left a bad taste in our mouths .
There are many local stores near the hotel and small
Markets tucked away in some side streets .
Rome is a beautiful city to visit . Reasonably priced .
Only minus is ensuring you don’t get conned by taxi drivers !

Bring a water bottle since they have free fountains around the city. You can google it to find locations close to you. Love the fact that tap on your phone is accepted almost everywhere so having euros on hand helps but not recommended unless your going to the Trevi fountain of course. You will pay more for food in the areas where tourist are so I recommend going about 2 to 3 blocks away for great food for a great price. Book any tours to the vatican a month in advanced if not use Expedia or viator for the best prices and times. Definitely check out a day tour to Tuscany it is worth it! Do a free walking tour if you are traveling solo tour will meet our ppl. A week is a good amount of time to stay in Rome unless your visiting other near by cities. Enjoy the food bc you will burn it off by the amount of walking you will do I lost 12lbs in a week!

It is a beautiful city, definitely worth the visit.
It is a beautiful city, definitely worth the visit. Overcrowded by tourists (like us! 😀).
Picking a place to sleep at can make a big difference in getting around - most places are within walking distance. Cabs/ubers readily available as well as golf cart rentals.
Places like Trevi Fountain and St. Peter's Basilica are worth getting up early for (be at Trevi at 5am). Crowds start at 5:30am.
Eat at restaurants away from main locations, in little tucked in streets.
Locals start dinner rounds after 7pm. Join them! Especially where live music is played...

So much history to see, we did all the sightseeing and a couple of guided tours. The Colosseum was a massive highlight. The food was really good everywhere we ate and reasonably priced but drinks were expensive i felt. Public transport really easy to navigate and taxi drivers were helpful. We did a lot of walking, some places were crowded though, the Trevi Fountain was silly with so many people crowded around but overall Rome far better experience than other European cities we have had city breaks in, we loved it.
We stayed at The Major for the last day of our southern Italy trip prior to flying home from Rome. The room was great—plenty of space, large bathroom. Staff was very helpful.
Breakfast was served at the rooftop restaurant which was a lovely picturesque al fresco experience.
Very convenient (10 minute walk) from Roma Termini, which was great for us since we arrived by train from Napoli and left via the Leonardo Express to FCO.
Very comfortable hotel in the rail station area—which typically can be a little "hit or miss".
The building although found in the old city of Rome, was modern and aesthetically pleasing. The room was spacious and clean and we were also offered water which we could refill from the hotel itself - who doesn’t love a sustainable act? The best part was the breakfast - so delicious and mouthwatering, I’ve never tasted such good breakfast at a hotel in Italy! The food was so genuine and fresh - pure delicacies of Rome! Finally, Erica the receptionist was so sweet and welcoming on our arrival and departure.
The location is excellent but unlike many 5 star hotels the staff were fantastic - not at all pretentious or pompous but extremely helpful, polite and very down to earth.
We are lucky to have experienced many 5 star hotels around the globe but this is one of the best with great facilities, lovely spa staff and an excellent location too!
The bar has an extraordinary manager who spoke super English and was extremely hospitable!
We regularly travel to Italy and we will definitely stay here again!
If you travel by train, it is convenient, a bit far from classic tourist monuments, if you have good energy to walk, is not a problem. We walked to go and uber to come back. The area looks scary, a bit too dirty, but you have a lot of tourists going by. We stayed in the hotel when we got to italy and when we left, one night each time. I don't think I would stay in this hotel to really visit rome for several days. For a night is more than ok, next to the train station, the staff is very nice!
The staff here has the best customer service I've ever received in my entire life. They welcomed us like we've been long-time friends. They showed us a map of Rome with places to see and eat. This was the first time staying in a "boutique" hotel and was an amazing experience. The rooms were clean and nice with everything in working order. It is walking distance from the Vatican City and an easy bus ride into the busy tourist areas. Check out this hotel if you plan on staying in Rome.
The bed was very spacious and very comfortable! I slept like a baby. It is also in the perfect location, right next to the station and has access to a lot of busses so it should be very easy to get around rome. The staff were amazing, specifically Jessica and Elvis, they made me feel very welcome. There’s a heatwave in italy so even after I have checked out, they made it very easy for me to rest in the hotel and even gave me towels to have a shower. Would definitely stay here again!!
The location was perfect. It was our first time in Italy and our first stop was Rome. The Trevi Fountain is pretty central to the other landmarks for sight-seeing, so it was not too far of a walk and we could stop back in the hotel throughout the day. The included Breakfast exceeded our expectations, a good spread and you could sit on their rooftop terrace overlooking the Trevi Fountain. It was a bit difficult to locate when we first got there, but otherwise, highly recommend!
This hotel is situated within 5 minutes walk from Roma Termini, very convenient if you come to Rome with a train or a plane. The staff is very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is relatively rich for Rome, as you will get some ham and salami, boiled eggs. The rooms are small, but not to the point of being inconvenient. Air conditioning is working, and it does not smell with fungi as most of the units in Italy. There is an elevator, so you do not have to carry your baggage up.
We thoroughly enjoyed this location, which straddles the neighborhoods of Monti and Esquilino. It was easily walkable to many sites as well as to public transportation, including Termini. The communication prior to arrival was excellent, the accommodation was clean and comfortable, and we enjoyed the coffee/tea station which also had little snacks available. I would absolutely recommend staying here, though the prices in Rome were a shock after being in Southern Italy.
Very clean rooms. Very friendly and helpful front desk personnel. Good location of the hotel, quite close to the Termini railway station and centre of Rome. We travelled by bus (628 and 360, mainly, if I recall well). The closest Metro station is quite far from the hotel (11-12 mins. of walking).
We relied a lot on Google Maps and Moovit in our holidays in Italy. They didn't dissapoint us, especially when we were walking or commuting from the hotel to the city centre.
This is my first stay at any hotel in Italy and I can honestly say that the receptionist set a high standard, the check in process was easy and accommodating, recommending me her own personal favorite restaurants that aren't tourist traps and wow that made the trip really great, eating authentic Italian food is the best way to start discovering Rome.
The rooftop for breakfast was fantastic, having some options to eat before walking around in Rome was helpful.
This was the best hotel in Italy we have visited out of 7. Very clean, comfortable and with good vibe. Great outdoor swimming pool - we loved it after hot day. But the best was customer service. We have left a wallet and they helped us a lot and sent the wallet back. Location was good, not far from the metro station and when we used taxi from the city centre was not expensive. We had a very good time.
This is an absolutely fantastic boutique hotel in Monti. It is located very conveniently in Rome and the rooms are gorgeous and a decent size for Italy. Above all however, the staff are absolutely amazing. They all went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and enjoyed our stay. It felt like they were welcoming us into their home, rather than a hotel. We can’t wait to come back!
This is a very nice hotel in Rome. The location is close to the Metro and not far from Termini Station. The room was very clean and the bed was comfortable. Breakfast was very good too. It’s on a side street so it’s very quiet. There is an excellent restaurant across the street and a few more close by. The best food in the world is in Italy. We highly recommend this hotel.
Central location close to Roma Termini, relaxing and affordable spa with multi sensory saunas, amazing rooftop bar/restaurant, comfortable pillows, fast WiFi, magnificent breakfast. Also set us up for car service to the airport. After a whirlwind week traveling in other parts of Italy, Hotel Artemide was such a refreshing experience to unwind before our long journey home!
The staff is amazing and very helpful. It is important to note that most hotels in Italy do not provide irons in their rooms for safety reasons. They may be able to accommodate you using an iron in a private room, or they may be able to get it serviced at a local laundromat. The staff will do their best to make your stay as comfortable as possible, no matter what.
Excellent stay in Rome! Pay at the property when check in, pay exactly the amount stated in Booking.com. No additional city hotel, tourist tax or whatever taxes has to be paid. We paid around 4 to 8 Euro per night per person at other hotel or B&B in Italy.
Overall, a pleasant stay in Gins B&B and definitely worth it!
We stayed here for 1 night in Rome before flying back home. The hotel was in a really useful location, just 5-10 mins walk from Rome Termini for the train to the airport. We did the same last time we visited Italy.
The staff are very friendly and welcoming. You can leave luggage here once you have checked out.
Omar at the reception is a gem
He has amazing tips for activities in Rome and across Italy. He's super proactive and extremely polite and friendly.
