We stayed here after getting back from a cruise to fly out the next day. It is only about a 40 minute walk to the city or a 5 minute walk to the tram. Not a good location to visit Amsterdam but great for the airport.

I was there for a concert in Ziggo Dome, one night in Hostelle. So that I did not have to travel home after the concert.
Had trouble finding the hostel, it is in the shopping mall, pedestrian area, opposite the burger place with the yellow M. Mall is a bit of a maze.
Hostelle perfect, just like advertised. Definitely recommend for girls/women. And very handy for Ziggo Dome, Amsterdam Arena, Afas live, and shopping, eating near by. As well as train, underground, busses to go into town.

Center city was our spot for shopping, we ate at many restaurants all were very good. It was very easy to get around Amsterdam we used the tram which was very easy, when you get on you tap your credit and the same when you get off and you were charged for that trip. Lots of things to do in Center city they had a nice outdoor market with many different things to purchase and lots of eating places and a good variety of food. Also you can get around by train and bus just as easy. Their were also many tours to different places. One thing to see was Central Station you can spend ours inside. Also the architectural designs of the building was fabulous if you like that kind of thing. GREAT PLACE TO VISIT.

Canal trip was excellent, a great array of places to eat and drink with very friendly staff and a wide range of things to do from art galleries to exploring the history of the red light district.
Many of the cafes and restaurant staff were happy to chat and had excellent knowledge of the content of their menus
Very picturesque bars and cafes situated across the canal bridges

I absolutely loved the Van Gogh museum and was blessed to see the Matthew Wong exhibition too. We walked most of Amsterdam clocking up 31 miles in 5 days. Bikes definitely rule! The dutch people were so kind, thoughtful and friendly. There was many places to eat including vegan foods for me. The huge amount of beers are awesome

Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities. I visit regularly.
Amsterdam is one of my favourite cities. I visit regularly. The central area is very walkable. Public transport is good and cheap. You can pay with bank card or Chipkaart. English is widely understood, but Amsterdammers will be pleased if you try to speak a little Dutch and will compliment you on it. There is a wide variety of restaurants and cafes. There are lots more beers than the ubiquitous Heineken. It is a safe city.

There are two types of people who go to Amsterdam.
There are two types of people who go to Amsterdam. There are party people who want to get stoned and have fun in bars and there are people who are interested in the historical architecture and scenery. We are the latter. Amsterdam is full of beautiful brick houses lining canals. It's beautiful to look at and thanks to its pedestrianized nature it's also quite peaceful. However, one could argue that it all looks the same and if you've seen one canal street, you've seen them all. This is why I think two days in Amsterdam are quite enough and you should also take the free boat from Central Station to the north side and visit the hip places there, such as the A'dam Lookout or the NDSM area.
The best hotel I staid in , great location in the city center a walk from central station and dum square but still a quiet friendly neighborhood near the water.
had a room with the view to the dum.
room was clean and they made my bad every day that was really nice. also there is free coffee and tea and they offer pastries in the main floor. The staff was super friendly and nice! got so excited when they gave me a bag of snack to my travel back home .
thank you for a greater experience !!
The Hotel was great , the rooms were clean , excellent staff , there is a tram stop next to the hotel it will take you to the city center within 15min and its near Amsterdam Sloterdijk Station where you can get a train from there to anywhere you like.
The hotel has self check in and check out service which is really incredible !
There is a supermarket just 3 mins walking from the hotel.
I suggest this hotel if you're looking for comfort and apart from noisy places in city center.
Hotel was really lovely and the location was just on the outskirts of the city centre so you had the best of both worlds. The room was fabulous and very comfortable, the complimentary toiletries etc were a nice touch. The staff were friendly. The hotel was spotlessly clean. Fantastic places to sit around the hotel in between all the greenery which gave you a sense of peace and calm. The pool area was great, overlooking the Amsterdam river. The breakfast was fine.
We travelled primarily to watch Ajax v. Brighton in the Europa League. We had stayed at the hotel on a previous trip to Amsterdam in February and knew it was a great little hotel in a good location. We booked 4 rooms, two of which were next to each other as we'd requested. All four rooms were comfy and clean. The location is a short tram or metro trip into the city centre and quick and easy to reach from the airport. Would definitely stay again - thank you!
Dont go expecting a 5 star hotel, it is what it is, a decent budget hotel.. The location is great and the rooms are tidy. I go to Amsterdam regularly for cheap break for a night or 2 with a few pals and we generally stay in the budget hotels, this is one of the best budget hotels in the main area. I must say for the price this is excellent value for money. Don't get me wrong I wouldn't take my wife to this hotel but its ideal for a cheap break on a budget.
The hotel itself is lovely, nice lobby/bar area, front of hotel overlooks water. The staff are friendly and helpful with directions. We preferred staying here than in the City Centre as it’s very quiet and also only 3 stops to Central Station on the tram which is a 5 min walk from the hotel. The rooms are very clean and not a bad size and the breakfast had a good selection.
I will definitely stay here again next time I visit Amsterdam.
- the hotel is very close, literally opposite, to Amsterdam Centraal. so we walked around the downtown area both in the day and later in the night.
- the train theme is fascinating. hope to see more trains and info from asia.
- the front desk is 24 hours and no need to worry when to return or how to get into the hotel when you go out at night
- the rooms are on the smaller side but this is city center so that meets expectation
Hotel was convenient for travelers who want to reach airport as well as city center within 5 min. It is located between Amsterdam central station and Schiphol airport very close to both location. It is right in front of Sloterdijk station. Room was clean with good size. Staff was nice and helpful. The price was reasonable compared to other hotels at this level with this location. I recommend this hotels to all.
Everything, the hotel is really nice. It has self check in and check out which is super convenient. The rooms are nice and big enough with lovely lights and a tv that you can control from your phone. The bathroom had everything you might need. The best part is that even though this hotel is not in the city center it is well connected through a 5 min ride train. We will definitely stay here again.
lovely decorative bedrooms with very comfortable beds!! really good location in Amsterdam city centre. staff were very welcoming and helpful. allowed the use of printers for our tickets and allowed us to keep our luggage at the hotel after checking out as we had a late flight. could not recommend more to anyone planning a city break to Amsterdam.. 5 stars !! thank u dwars
Spacious room, compared to other hotels in Amsterdam. It s perfect if you want to go to an event in Ziggo Dome. The soundproofing is very good. Beds are comfortable.
The location is obviously far from the city center but it's very well connected (30 minutes by metro to the city center and 25 minutes to Schiphol Airport)and there are supermarkets and shops in the area
The location of City Hotel was nothing to have any remarks on. It was close to almost everything in the city centre of Amsterdam and the Rembrant Plein was also nice with restaurants and trams close to the hotel.
The personel was kind and helpful and we could keep our luggage at the hotel on the day we checked out since our flight home was very late.
A cheap option not so far from Amsterdam centre at almost half the price compared to hotels closer to the city centre.
Pool and ping pong tables down stairs that were fun when. Really nice coffee shop near by that had excellent brunch options.
Took 12 min tram trip every morning to the centre costing 3.80 EUR per person each way.
Amazing hotel! The rooms are clean, spacious and modern. The staff are friendly! The breakfast was good and the onsite restaurant ia great for dinner - try the steak! And the metro is a few minutes away for a short and inexpensive ride into the city center or other areas. One of our best stays on an extended trip to Europe.
This is a spectacular hotel, a million miles from the bland look and feel of many hotel chains. The decor is absolutely beautiful, the public spaces are wonderful. The breakfasts were great. Also, the location is not in central Amsterdam but it's fantastically easy to get to both the airport and the city centre.
The hotel is in a great location for the City Centre and within walking distance to the Dam Square. Plenty of pubs/bars and restaurants on the door step so great if you’re in Amsterdam for the nightlife. Staff were lovely and helpful. The room was clean and the bed, pillows and blanket were comfortable.
Everything, clean, super quiet, comfy, well equipped, friendly staff, near the train station less than 10min to do hotel - Amsterdam central. We also walk to the city centre, count 50min. It's definitely a great place to stay when visiting Amsterdam.
Location was great, hop on trams so easy, superb shopping next door, convenience of hotel restaurants for dining or room service. The breakfast was one of the best ever… 5 star. The concierge service was polite and helpful.
Very nice spacious hotel, beautifully decorated, comfortable bed, nice bathroom, in front of a beautiful park and with easy and quick access to the city center, best hotel that I’ve been in Amsterdam so far.
Great hotel near Amsterdam city centre, only a 10 min tram ride ride in front of the hotel. Staff was super friendly and helpful. Would highly recommend
