The openness of the property & access to the beach was beautiful! Several access points to balconies & balconies looking out to the beach were also a plus. The air hockey table provided an extra touch in making this home enjoyable. The laundry room is large, so we were able to comfortably do laundry. The kitchen was stocked with appliances & cookware which was also nice, so we could comfortably cook dinner, snacks & lunches.

Location was great, right across the street from beach access. Not far from stores/shops. Plenty of room for 4 adults and 2 children, 3 insuite bathrooms and one for guests. . Main living area was nice and comfy. Hot tub was a hit. They deck was great and nice sized with plenty of seating. They do give you 3 dishwasher and 3 laundry tablets. Had some sharp part by the sliding doors, but maintenance came out and removed. Toaster blew out but again was replaced quickly, but still a wonky toaster, only toasted on bottom. Had a huge storm roll thru, but felt safe, flooding didn't bother the house at all since it's situated more in the middle of the island.

We have been coming to Dauphin Island since our children were young. Now they are married and we brought our son n law this trip. It would have been nice to have been able to catch the ferry. First it was shut down by Coast Guard, then it was full next day so we never got to ride. We love it because it’s quieter than other locations nearby. We will be back!

I loved the fact that the pool was right out in front of us and that the patio was big enough for four people or more. The pool water was great. There was some good places to eat right on the island and we did go off the island one time to eat. Everything was wonderful as far as I was concerned I would come back in a heartbeat. John was very personable and was very good to get back to us. Had a good experience with the Vaca Sa.

We realize that nothing can be done about it at this point, but the haphazard layout of the many vacation beach home properties makes the island look messy. Thankfully, the home construction ends at the west end public beach area and the natural beauty of the island begins.

We loved the overall laid back feeling of the Island.
We loved the overall laid back feeling of the Island. Not commercialized at all. And all of the beach houses - when we weren't on the beach or relaxing, we enjoyed driving around and looking.
Restaurants were good to very good and shopping was as expected (beachy).
Beach was clean and flags were appropriate. Appreciated that the beach was dog friendly.
Be sure to stop at grocery stores, or Walmart before getting to to the island because there are only a few convenience stores that charge convenience store prices. So, if you have to go back and shop because you couldn't stop, plan on about at least 3 hours to get your groceries and stuff and return.

Dauphin Island is that quiet little oasis to get away from everything when you just need some beach time. The beach is pristine, with gentle waves to keep it fun for the kids. There is some really good food to be had on DI as well. Do NOT miss the Lighthouse Bakery.
We didn't get to visit the Marine Lab because it was closed for renovations, but I'm sure it's a must do.
Would I visit DI again? Absolutely!

Dauphin Island was the perfect location for our family!
Dauphin Island was the perfect location for our family! The smaller, quaint town was exactly what we were looking for as for a vacation. My children love “crab hunting” and this is definitely the place to do it! The dolphins were very close, while swimming we seen several jump! We will definitely be back!
