Staff was very helpful and swapped out feather pillow and comforter for hypoallergenic ones. Enjoyed the complementary wine on the patio.

I live in RI and have never been that far into the center of CT as I always thought it would be boring. I was incorrect and went to a number of stores, breweries, eateries and met a great group of people throughout my short stay.

We were visiting the New England Air Museum.
We were visiting the New England Air Museum. This motel was about 15 minutes away. It was the most reasonable motel price-wise. The motel is old and dated, as are the interior finishes. Not run down, just old. There have been some updates, but more would not hurt. The room was a good size. The room was very clean. Everything worked inside. Clean is the biggest thing for me. Dated doesn't bother me.

It never stopped pouring for 48 hours, could not walk around at all, in addition, very cold.
Unusual for this time of the year!
We drove around to different little towns.
Simsbury Inn is in a very good location.

It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip.
It was pouring/raining for the duration of our trip. We didn't get to enjoy the hiking to the tower or a nearby botanical garden as we planned. But, it was close to Hartford and we found some indoor stuff to do there. The Pine and Iron axe throwing spot was unexpectedly fun! And lunch in West Hartford was great. I'd say, if you see it is going to rain actively try to plan a nearby museum or other activity. We weren't able to get into the Mark Twain House (about 20 minutes away I think) and b/c of COVID indoor activities are limited.

Have already shared but everything from the property itself...
Have already shared but everything from the property itself - which is lovely - charming - clean and appealing to the staff - each and every one was courteous, helpful and accommodating.
And, the food was excellent!!
The Iron Horse Inn has seen better days. It is threadbare, the furnishing are old, the room was dingy and had an odor. There were no bathroom facilities in the lobby and the outdoor facilities appeared uncared for, especially the lobby entrance.
In fairness, the room, bedding and bathroom were relatively clean. The saying goes "you get what you pay for". The price was cheap and I got cheap. So if you want to go for a bargain price, you could do better than this.
We almost always stay at Simsbury Inn when we drop off and pick up our son from U of Hartford. It's not the closest or least expensive but it is very convenient to the school and always gives us good service and comfortable rooms.
We've tried other hotels in the area but while some are very nice, they aren't conveniently located.
We are a family of 4 and reserved a two king size bed room so we were at the carriage house which is separate from the inn. It was great. We didn’t have to worry about our boys being noisy or bothering anyone. The room was clean and spacious. The staff was also very pleasant.
Everything was done right, attention to details, relaxing, nice bedding and towels, a breakfast made for royalty, chef presentation, candles, they are truly talented inn keepers. We look forward to returning. Thank you.
Beautiful B & B, incredible breakfast, warm and friendly host and hostess in Jim and Cathy.
We appreciated the one-night stay option as we could not be in Simsbury for two consecutive nights.
A historic house in a conservation area, wonderful large room and bath. Very helpful staff. There weren't many other guests and we only stayed for one night, but it was a real joy.
