Fafo was very communicative. Fafo was great cook and provided a hearty meal after a hard day. The common area outside was really special. Fafo's guesthouse is also located at a great spot on the classic hiking trail. We were welcomed as family and would love to visit again.

The environment and people are nice. Meals are perfect. There is also a cute cat and dogs. The host are all friendly and are willing to help guests. Water is hot. There are washing machine and dryers. All good.

Tengo is a force of nature--super friendly, full of energy, and able to help with anything. The meals were huge and very tasty. And the location is great--right in the heart of Zhabeshi.

Everything was incredible!! Had the room with the balcony and it came with a gorgeous view, and a table/chairs. The entire property, room, and bathroom were super clean - felt like a normal, city hotel and not a rural village. The beds were very comfortable, and the room had five outlets. Diner and breakfast had a ton of food and were both delicious! As of July 2025, dinner was 35 GEL breakfast was 25 GEL.

Nora is a lady in her 80s and definitely offers a very local experience, will care for your needs and has a lovely garden. Communication is hard, unless you speak russian or georgian. So you should be fine that she will make some choices for you, especially around food.. most is vegeterian but hard to really communicate dietary needs. There will be plenty of food, wine is included as well.

    Zhabeshi is the first overnight stop on the most common route taken by hikers walking the iconic Mestia-to-Ushguli hike. (There are alternative routes that bypass Zhabeshi.) The village is located in an exquisite valley just below the confluence of the Tviberi and Tsaneri Rivers, nestled under the slopes of Tetnuldi and Banguriani peaks in the Greater Caucasus Range. If you're into mountain environments and ancient villages steeped in history, it doesn't get much better than this.

    with the concrete road to Mestia in place (20 minutes of driving), there is no real need to stay in Zhabeshi any more if you have your own car: Mestia has much more guesthouses to choose from and offers shops, nice restaurants, ATM's, ... which you don't find in Zhabesi at all; only if you want to experience solitude, rural live and stay in a family guesthouse , you can still enjoy Zhabeshi
