Lovely little hotel with full amenities and spotless rooms. I was especially impressed by the staff — professional, welcoming, and always ready to help with a smile. Great location, just a short walk to the night market, Hoan Kiem Lake, and Ta Hien beer street. The room was a bit small but quiet and cozy. For a 4-star experience, the price was very reasonable. Perfect for couples or international travelers wanting to explore Hanoi’s culture.

I had an amazing stay here, the staff here were so helpful and are some of the most friendly I’ve come across in my years of travelling. They went out of their way to help me throughout my stay, including recommending an itinerary for me. The hotel is in a great location so is within walking distance to all the main attractions/restaurants in the Old Quarter. The bed was comfortable and breakfast was decent.

We started our Vietnam adventure in Hanoi for 3 nights and full days. We did a walking food tour in the old quarter, took the hop on hop off bus tour and explored. Visited the local markets, train alley and walked the lake people watching. Ate some pretty interesting food, frogs legs to sand worms. Was a good way to hit the ground in a not too busy part of Vietnam. The bus was a great way to see the outer areas and many touristy things to visit along the way. We stopped at a temple, be aware you hire the sarongs from the ladies out the front to cover your legs when entering. The jail was an interesting stop with loads of French invasion and terror. Reminds you how crap humans are to one another.

I think Train Street is the must-visit spot, and I was here...

I think Train Street is the must-visit spot, and I was here just for that. If you love street food, roaming in city areas, shopping, and souvenirs, and wish to stick to the city, then Hanoi is just a good option. The good part of people here is that they are attentive but not so friendly (particularly, I found them reluctant to speak and befriend tourists, and I am sure that was not due to just the language barrier; hardly anyone would speak English, and the rest of them just don't want to communicate with you if you don't speak Vietnamese or buy something from them). Before coming here, I'd visited Ho Chi Minh City, and I just love that city, and people were extremely polite and friendly. The food they served in Ho Chi Minh was excellent, while in Hanoi is just like 'eat and leave now' kind of place. I really don't want to criticise or want to insult anyone, but I am just sharing my comparative analysis of two different cities. Further, due to a typhoon that entered Hanoi three days after I arrived in Hanoi, I had to travel to another beautiful place, Sapa, and that was one of my best experiences as a solo traveller. The food, people, environment, and facilities – everything in Sapa was just perfect there. So I would recommend anyone visiting Vietnam spend fewer days in Hanoi (which is a bit costly and not so tourist friendly) and go to either the north, i.e., Sapa, or the south, i.e., Ho Chi Minh City or any other city (if you have more time) and spend at least 10 to 15 days exploring beautiful Vietnamese landscapes and culture. I just love Vietnam, and I would love to visit it again and again.

Hanoi is a great city that has different characteristics to Saigon. Saigon is busy but I enjoyed Hanoi more because of the chaotic nature of the street traffic and I found the locals a bit friendlier. The Old Quarter is a great place to stay with its labyrinth of streets (I did get misplaced early on) but you could always find a friendly bar to refresh from the heat and get your bearings. I also found it quite easy and felt safe walking to various attractions both during the day and at night. I will be returning as a stopover to Sapa next trip.

A very busy and active city, however the amount of traffic and no distinction of lanes or pedestrian crossings does not make for healthy environment. Smog on most days due to the reliance of private transportation. No for the faint hearted, cross the road and hope you don't get run over.

Rooms: Spacious, clean comfortable. Powerful hot shower. Good AC. Location: 10/10 perfect for exploring old quarter. Lots of restaurants. Host: Amazing, friendly host. He arranged a 2 night cruise to Ha Long Bay and Cat Ba, and VIP transport to Ninh Binh. Pick up was direct from the hotel which was extremely helpful. Prices were very reasonable, cheaper than 12GO and Get Your Guide, etc. This is the best place to stay in Hanoi!!! We extended twice for a total of 7 nights! Thank you again!

This was a great hotel in the middle of the Old Quarter. Close to many restaurants, massage places and tourist sites. The staff were wonderful. Beds were very comfortable. Rooms were clean. And the breakfast was amazing. We had the best homemade yogurt and fruit. They also have eggs to order, hot food, salad and Vietnamese dishes. We really enjoyed our stay here. Highly recommended if you’re in Hanoi. Violet takes care of your every need.

The hotel was in the heart of the Old Quarter, so it was easy to explore many of Hanoi's attractions on foot. The room was spacious and clean, and the beds were so comfortable. The breakfasts were tasty, diverse and plentiful. The staff at reception organised transport and a laundry service for us. It was such an enjoyable stay! We have already booked one more night here before we leave Vietnam because we enjoyed it so much!
