Perfect balance of efficiency and affordability. The people who designed this place knew what they were doing. The room has everything needed including a large desk. (Rare in my month here) The lighting is just right and the switches are in the right places. The heater is great. There are coat hooks and hangers (yay hooks) and there is a luggage stand. (No drawers for unpacking, though. That space went to the mini refrigerator and I would have made the same choice). There is an onsen downstairs, and the women's side has a door code to keep out unexpected visitors. Hanamizuki is right next to the train station and bus hub, with lots of restaurants. The castle and koi street are easy to walk to.

Location was great and staff were friendly and patient. We get a free drink and there is a place to grab more towels/toothpaste/razors/etc. The lobby has a seating area that is lovely, too.

Meals were really good and a great experience. The onsen was unique and uncrowded. Also, the private onsen in each room was great. Rooms were spacious compared to other Japanese hotels.
