Tanabe was our starting point for our Kumano Kodo trek so we stayed in Tanabe only one day not realizing how much there is to do in Tanabe. If we ever come to Tanabe again, we will be sure to stay longer to enjoy all that there is to do there. We got food before we arrived as there are no cooking facilities onsite but we did have a microwave in our room so could just bring something from the shop in the train station.
