The owner picked us up from the train station and drove us around town to show us the good restaurants before dropping us off at the guesthouse. Bikes where available for us to ride and the home was comfortable and very clean. The manager was very attentive. He picked us up and took us back to the train station. He even stayed and helped us find a locker for our luggage so we could walk around town before leaving. Everyone was very kind and helpful. Wonderful stay!

You can feel like being at your home, quite comfortable. Everything well considered. We can enjoy 2 night as big family gathering including 2 dogs together. Staffs amazing, prompt reaction, I appreciate all especially about long suggestion note about our activity plan around those area ahead to our visit.

Great location. A good base for Lake Biwa, Mt Hiei and the important sights of Omi Hachiman. The house itself is quaint and traditional, yet has modern amenities which meet all reasonable needs. The ground floor has enough space for 4 people to sleep comfortably, and if additional space is needed there is always the huge space on the 2nd floor. There is also a parking space for one car, which is super convenient for those who drives. The host who met us on our arrival to do the check in, is also friendly.

    A quiet little town, a great place to visit to avoid the...

    A quiet little town, a great place to visit to avoid the crowds of tourists. Make sure to take the rope-way to the top of Mount Hachiman for a breathtaking view of Lake Biwa and the surrounding area. Also a good place to try out the local Omi beef, one of Japan's top quality wagyu beef brands.

    There are plenty of great places to visit here.

    There are plenty of great places to visit here. The ruins and shrine at the top of Hachiman mountain (Hachimanyama) is well worth visiting, a trip on the canal is pleasant and the tile museum is much better than you would expect. If you want to be organised, I recommend that you make a reservation for lunch and/or dinner. Their specialty is beef but the fresh food is excellent as much of it is locally grown so it's super fresh and delicious.
