The hotel had a perfect location in the old city. We walked to everything. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Our flight came in very early, and we were provided with coffee and breakfast while our room was made up early for our check in. The room was very large and very clean! The hotel kept our luggage for us after check out so that we could continue to walk around the city before we had to leave. They regularly offered us bottles of water. Breakfast was delicious.

Very nice and modern hotel in a great location (walking distance to Hagi Sophia, Blue Mosque, Basilica Cisterns 28 minutes and 15 minutes walking distance to the Grand Bazaar). We had a great view of one of the mosques and AC worked really well. Great facilities to unwind after a day of walk (dry and wet sauna).

FAQs about hotels in Istanbul

The Best of Asia and Europe

The city of Istanbul offers a trip unlike any other, encompassing Asian and European cultures to create a heady mix of art, music and food. The amazing Old Town and the Sultanahmet are home to iconic Blue Mosque and the Hagia Sophia. More history is hidden in the Topkapi Palace, where you can glimpse the splendor and opulence of Turkey’s Ottoman heritage.

Take a stroll through the historic center or the busy Taksim Square before watching the sun set behind countless mosques and minarets. Local fish markets and numerous restaurants lining the bridge to Galata offer the Golden Horn’s daily catch.

If you prefer the fine art of bargaining to fine art, lose yourself in the Grand Bazar and maybe you’ll emerge with a hookah, some Turkish coffee, or even a carpet. The Spice Bazar further immerses you in the sights, smells, and tastes of Turkish culture.

Getting to Istanbul is an easy trip from Ataturk International Airport or Sabiha Gokcen Airport. Whether you want a luxury hotel on the Asian side or a budget hostel in Taksim Square, Booking.com has over 1,000 great accommodations for a vacation in Istanbul.

I visited Istanbul 16 years ago and fortunately saw the main sites then. I only came back this time because it was the finishing point of my tour. This time I found it extremely crowded, especially in Sultanehmet and the Bazaars. Prices have gone crazy. They are asking for Euros, cash and things are way overpriced. Touts are constantly hassling you to buy tickets etc. There are other cities/countries in Europe less visited, very safe and better priced. (Romania, Bulgaria, Azerbaijan).

So big and so nice city, public transportation is good.

So big and so nice city, public transportation is good. Many thnings can be done there and they are all nice. The nature, bosphoure, parks, historic places, food, and even free walks in the city. It's a clean and safe city as well. Just do a small home work to search for the price of everything, cause you'll overpay anything if you didnt do that. I stayed beside Taksim square, and everything in Taksim has over price, starting from the ice cream, exchange rate and the food, desserts (baklawa). When I go away from the touristic place (such as Taksim) I find better prices and better quality. The last thing, you need to stay close to public transportation; as teh taxi/uber there are very expensive.

I wasn’t a fan of Istanbul inner city.

I wasn’t a fan of Istanbul inner city. We stayed in Laleli but most of the city was extremely overcrowded and the trams were too packed. It was also quite expensive and many of the vendors would ask where I was from or what language I spoke and then charged me a lot more than locals (I’ve heard often x2 or even x3). We did not visit many of the attractions such as museums or tours as it was too expensive. Furthermore people smoke everywhere to the point where it was taste in my throat and I also saw people smoking in front of their babies. However the things I liked were the numerous friendly cats and also the beautiful nature side of Istanbul. The parks were amazing and we took a boat tour to the islands which were a must visit. As a Muslim I saw many mosques which had graves surrounded by them which I did not particularly agree with.

Istanbul is busy, expensive and not worth spending more than two days, unless you have to. Be prepared to be scummed left right and centre. Everything is three or four times UK prices! Be extra careful regarding tourist events you are fur better off shopping around or booking privately. The tour guide arrangements can be expensive and not value for money.

Amazing city with lots of things to do and watch. Lot of sight seeing and food is so good. I have been there before and the only comment is that it became very expensive compared to few years ago. Sight seeing places are now with expensive tickets and food prices increased. Overall, it is a nice city to visit.

I always stay at the Marble Hotel in Istanbul, whether with family or as a solo traveler. This December, I had three different bookings as I traveled to Bursa and returned. I've stayed here almost 10 times over the past three years, spending a total of more than 30 days. The hotel staff are very friendly and supportive. Eren is an excellent leader. The breakfast was outstanding, and the location is unbeatable—right at the heart of Taksim Square and Istiklal Street. December in Istanbul was exceptional, with amazing weather.

I found this hotel on booking and it was the first time I went to turkey, and it was absolutely amazing. Getting to the hotel was easy because of the subway from airport to the hotel. The hotel location was great, 2 minutes from subway, 3 minutes from tramway, secure place, and you can walk to Beyazit, Sultanahmet. The host Erdogan was helpful. The room was just like in the photos, and cleaning service was available. I would definitely go back to this hotel if I go back to Istanbul.
