The beach is soft sandy, the water is shallow, good restaurants, nice people. Very good food at Mirage Hotel Restaurant, and especially at the hidden Fish and Sea. Nice pizzas in Pizza Italia, overall very cheap prices. Beautiful beach bars all around. The waves can be high. Still we are in Albania, so lot of poor people, garbage on the roads. You can hardly pay by card, get some leks at the beginning. The streets and infrastructure is poor, cars are parking and driving as they want. Golem is a developing resort with plenty of building projects on the go. A family resort it offers plenty of restaurants, supermarkets & bars. In the evenings The beach front promenade comes alive with activities such as bumper cars, air hockey, children’s rides. Like any resort it’s extremely busy in high season. The staff at Vela Hote are superb! Helpful, organized and really mindful about their customers and their needs. The area is nice. We took long walks in each direction and mostly found the "usual" tourist stuff. Golem is a very good place especially for families. The beach is sandy, It has a very good walkable area to walk. The pine trees add value to Golemi beach area. You have so much choices to drink and eat fresh food. It has very good 5 *, 4* Hotels, Holiday homes and other structures for guests. Very tasty and inexpensive food, fresh seafood. The beach is ideal for children: clean sand, shallow sea, warm water in the sea. But the city of Golem itself is very, very dirty. Garbage lies and stinks right in the middle of the streets. A lot of construction, it causes a lot of noise. And a lot of abandoned construction. All the beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas for rent.
All the beaches have sunbeds and umbrellas for rent. In fact, the entire beach is filled with them, leaving very little space for people who want to bring their own beach chairs. The view of the beach also isn't very nice because of the large number of sunbeds. I only saw one small area that was public and allowed people to use their own chairs.Guest review byJulioBrazil
