The property was in keeping with a wilderness experience. It felt authentic and personal. The view was awe inspiring. There was plenty to do near by. We loved walking through all the villages and speaking to the kind people there. It was great to be there when there were no crowds. The food and service at the hotel were second to none. We felt so at home.

The staff was exceptional. the facility was very clean. the free breakfast was very good with lots of choices and lots of food. The décor was very simple, but the paint colors are restful, and we had a nice view from the balcony. The doors were soundproof on the balcony. So outside noises were not noticed. In fact it was quite soundproof. The bed was really comfortable. I wish my bed at home were as comfortable as that one. we stayed 22 days and had a good time exploring the little town of Arcos de Valdevez.

    It's boring and overcrowded.

It's boring and overcrowded. The small river beaches are full of people, there are only couple small supermarkets. We tried two pizza place and the pizza was bad in both of them. The termas park is very small and it took 1,5 hours to explore it. I think this place is overestimated if only you are not a fan of balneotherapy.

Considering we stayed one month, it wasnt long enough. if you love unrestricted access to mountains, waterfalls, the fauna in northern Portugal. the genuine friendliness of the people, and the food, Gee Wizz , come and enjoy what they have on offer, an example of the local people, we were climbing a steep road at the foot of a mountain near Ermal, and passed by a man cutting brush, once he realised what we were attempting, he gave us armfulls of fruit from his house, Kiwis, Apples, and Oranges, Just smashing, what a lovely guy.

Arcos de Valdevez is a very clean and well-kept town — a true pleasure to visit. The atmosphere is calm and welcoming, with charming streets and beautiful surroundings. Not all restaurants accept credit cards, but ATMs are available and easy to find. A lovely place for a relaxed stroll, good food, and exploring the local culture. Definitely worth a stop if you're in the area!

The trail to the castle is pretty nice to do, and the views on top are great. The multiple restaurants offer the same type of food but still very good. Melgaço is pretty close by, as is the Peneda Gerês Park. Walking around the town is calm and relaxing as it's a pretty small village

Nice and Cultural rich city but seems to be crowded with tourists and not so quiet anymore. You can get excellent food at "Trancoso" or "Avenida" restaurants. Near Gerês so you can drive and visit but again expect a lot of traffic due to tourists (in August, at least).

Gerês is one of my favorite places to visit in the north of Portugal. No matter how many times I visit, I will always be amazed by the waterfalls, and crystal clear water lakes in this rocky mountain. There's just so many things to visit and do that I always feel like coming back to this escape in nature.

We were unimpressed with & frustrated with No offer to help elderly with luggage, across rough surfaces from the parking area . No resolution for overly warm room, & malfunctioning safe. Issues with refrigerator not cooling, nonpaved surfaces & uneven granite pavers making luggage transfer difficult . Room was not properly readied with the overly warm temperature and 3 tissues left in tissue box & malfunctioning safe & refrigerator

I have nothing negative to say about our stay. It exceeded all expectations and set a high bar for our accommodation expectations for continued travel. Sonia and Antonio were incredible hosts and I highly recommend Just Natur Guesthouse for anyone visiting the area. We enjoyed every side trip outside the village and each was within easy reach. It was surprising to see at least 5 restaurants in the village.

I love mountains and forests but live in the Lisbon area so visiting Gerês National Park was wonderful. There isn't a whole lot to do, especially if you don't have a car, but what there is to do, is great. Very worthwhile experience. 1. Get a massage at the spa 2. Visit the thermal pool, sauna and steam (or other services) 3. Take a guided Jeep tour through the National Park. 4. Stroll through the local forest park. 5. Dip in the park's pools. 6. Explore a few restaurants. 7. If so inclined, find some hiking trails.
