The parking system is not working well. We visited the museum (maritime museum). It was written that parking is free for 4 hours for museum visitors. We entered our car's license plate into the museum's computer, but an hour later we received a €40 fine. Tallinn is a lovely city to visit. Clean, tidy and with plenty of bars and restaurants to suit all tastes. Getting around the city is very easy due to the cheap and plentiful buses and trams. The Old Town centre of Tallinn is filled with a good mix of shops, bars, eateries and historical sites and walking round, day or night, feels relaxed and safe. It's easy to get around in Tallinn, whether by public transport or using bicycle or scooter sharing, or simply walking. The town has quite a few interesting restaurants, bars, and cafes, as well as historical sights, museums, nice views of the sea, and cute local shops. Tallinn is worth to visit and revisit. But even more interesting is Arvo P'ärt Centre in Laulasmaa 40 minutes ride by car away. A unique encounter with music and the deeply human thinking of Arvo Pärt in tthe middle of a forest, Also equipped with a tower that has a lift bringing you up above the trees to see the sea. In the other directuin from Tallinn you find Kadriorg Castle, a wonderfuk creation of the Russian Emperess Katarina II. Tallin was amazing, we stayed for 4 nights and had 3 full days. Old Town is just beautiful, every little corner of it is worth exploring, it’s is touristy but not overcrowded which makes it the perfect summer destination. Transportation is very easy in the city. I would definitely recommend downloading the Bolt app for taxi services or car rental. We rented a car and did the Viru bog trail which is just 40 minutes from Tallinn, would definitely recommend doing that if you have the time. I would highly recommend Tallinn to everyone who doesn’t want the southern Europe heat but still looks for a city with rich culture and history.Guest review byLisanneNetherlands
