There is too much to see on one visit; and too many people of all nations. The colosseum is a disappointing experience; people walking around with phones and cameras; blocking the views. Its a 'honey which button do I press' experience. The forum is a ruin and you have to use your imagination. On a hot day the best feature is the drinking fountain in the shade of a tree - just sit a while and look around. The Palatine Hill is just that - I decided it was too steep to bother in 33 degrees.Guest review bySweepyUnited Kingdom - 10.0

Large spacious room with large light filled modern bathroom and great variety of breakfast food. Luana & Petro were so kind and hospitable even walking me to an ATM and the local Pizzeria Galleria a few metres down the road. Home is close to beach. Having a cash driver affiliated to their lovely home is so useful and helpful. Highly recommend staying here each time in RomaGuest review byMemoryAustralia - 6.0

There is no easy walking access to the cruise port or terminals, you will have to book a taxi OR take a bus from the train station to the port (40e). It is confusing and not well detailed by the cruise companies - do your research. Taxi from the train station to an apartment is equally a hassle (30e minimum).Guest review byAlanUnited States - 10.0

A bit of a military town (nato and US frigates, etc) but I think Gaeta has something for everyone. Great community, historical sights, and an amazing park with ruins and tunnels. It did cost me 25€ to get to my hotel from the train station, but I was told by locals this was a fair price,Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Beyond gorgeous. It’s a dream vacation spot and easily travelled by electric bike to all the beaches. Mostly Italian tourists which made it seem much more chilled out than other beach spots in Italy. Highly recommendGuest review byKristinaUnited States - 10.0

Ostia is a beautiful city next to the Airport and just a short ride from Rome. I truly love it there, in the last year I visited 3 times and I cant wait to come back. You can visit Ostia antica or Rome or just chill on a beach and swim in the sea with sand beaches.Guest review byMU-CHACzech Republic - 10.0
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town.
A lovely mostly little undiscovered medieval town. It’s only small but very cute with lots of restaurants and an attractive cathedral and papal palace. Easily walkable and not very far from Rome. Mostly quiet except on weekendsGuest review bycatherineAustralia - 10.0
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June.
We were in Terracina the last two weeks of June. We experienced a local feel with few tourists. the old town is fantastic. We rented electric bikes, which is recommended. Then you can get around easily. A trip up to the temple went like a dream in the heat. We also cycled out to the Cantina Sant'Andrea winery. It took approx. one hour one way. A wonderful trip and a great visit where we tasted many good wines. One should also enter a trip to Ponza. The ferry departs from the city centre. An incredibly cozy island. We chose to rent a boat when we were out there, so that we could take a trip to the outside of the island and swim in the crystal clear water. It was magical! We only took a day trip, but we should have included an overnight stay at Ponza.Guest review byKnut IvarNorway - 10.0

Villa d’Este was amazing and had waterfalls to rival Palace of Versailles. The walk through Villa Gregoriana gardens down the side of the hill to the bottom of the waterfalls was a solid hike and not for the feeble. Definitely take a couple of hours to visit Hadrian’s Villa (aka Villa Adriana) which had amazing historical half crumbling palace and ornamental lake.Guest review bySharee F.Australia - 10.0

We are Orthodox Christian monastics from New Zealand and we came to visit St Benedict's Monastery. I have been twice before but brought my daughter, a nun, this time. Last time I visited the war graves and was profoundly moved and saddened by recalling the entire battle scene that once occurred in this area. No one prospers in a war, ever, but the rebuilding of the once bombed monastery is a testimony to the faith and loving care in the hearts of the people of this town. We found all the people we met to be very hospitable and friendly. It was local young Asians whom we asked for directions to a Chinese restaurant, for example, and were delightfully surprised just how multiculturant Cassino has now become. It was a joy to be here and we were blessed in our stay. We highly recommend Boteroom accomodation here, the Tai Wan restaurant, a tour of St Benedict Monastery and a sunset stroll on the piazza. You'll just love it.Guest review byMonastery
