For those reading this, your research should make you aware...
For those reading this, your research should make you aware of the following. Bali is small and cramped with narrow roads and heavy traffic which moves at a snail's pace. If you are comfortable on a scooter, you can rent one. We opted to sit the traffic out by hiring a car and driver. You can negotiate a little with the drivers and everyone (ie. hotel staff) knows someone with an airconditioned vehicle who you can hire directly. In my humble opinion, Kuta is the better bet. Seminyak and Nusa Dua are too pricey for what is still Bali. Ubud is much too far from the ocean so ensure you are ready for a 30-45 min drive to get to the beach. If you are willing to walk a little, you can find everything you need in Kuta. Decent food and other shopping. Currency exchange places. An upmarket mall (with globally recognised brands) and a local mall with local brands. Kuta also has most of the fast-food franchises we would recognise (all the burger, chicken, pizza, and coffee places).Guest review byYeoshaanSouth Africa - 8.0

I’ve travelled to Bali a lot over the years but have never stayed in Canggu. It has really top quality restaurants, shops and spas. But I wouldn’t be rushing back the traffic was a terrible and getting Around took so long to get anywhere. The trip to the airport took 2 1/2 hours which was approximately 17 klm from where I was staying and not in peak hour!!!Guest review bysally thomasAustralia - 10.0

I loved the shopping, lots of fun bartering, friendly vibe, great cafe's restaurants and bars. Beautiful beach....day beds and umbrellas to lounge under. Close to other places like Legien and Kuta. Lots of taxies and gojek bikes to take you where ever you wanted to go at a very affordable price. The weather and accommodation is marvellous. I would recommend Seminyak as a perfect place to stay.Guest review byTammyAustralia - 10.0

Uluwatu is awesome but very busy now compared to other years. We loved the location of our villa, very central yet so quiet for how busy it is in Padang Padang. Easy to get around. Villa was beautiful we didn't want to leave! Could have done with a tv for quiet night in that's about it. The ladies at the office are lovely but quite pushy with payments when you book things and communication sometimes a bit mixed up. Apart from that we enjoyed our stay :)Guest review byJennaNew Zealand - 4.0
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend...
Basically just a resort neighborhood for people to spend their miles and points at all the usual hotel chains. The neighborhood is almost all resort pricing unless you go and mingle in the slum-like conditions that the local construction workers are living in. Almost all of the activities and attractions outside of the resorts are very suspicious, often feeling like tourist trap scams. I would only stay here again if someone were inviting me to some convention hosted here and they were putting me up in the resort hotel.Guest review byKoJapan - 10.0
Needed a place to sleep for 2 nights.
Needed a place to sleep for 2 nights. I was by myself and was out 7am to midnight every day. The hotel was perfect for that. Neat, clean, modern. Has all amenities like in-room tea/coffee, hot shower, great shower pressure, clean comfy beds, properly working AC etc etc. The room would be small for 2 people but for one person it was perfect. I took a room with twin beds so I could leave my suitcase open on the other bed. Staff are very helpful. Great location. I asked for a room that did not face the road and it was very quiet.Guest review byAyeshaIndia - 10.0

Jimbaran is very laid back and traffic is not bad by Bali standards. We thoroughly enjoyed the beach and spent most of our time there. We did have a family dinner on the beach at sunset and that was a great experience. We also had a fantastic dinner at an Indian restaurant near the beach. I can’t wait to visit jimbaran again with my grandson and learn to surf!Guest review byhumphrey - 8.0

We found a shop in Kerobokan where all the locals went to buy clothes etc, the prices were set and very reasonable if you didnt want to barter for everything Our villa was at the end of a driveway a fair walk from the shops etc, we couldnt find a salon nearby to have a massage. We were close to a laundry however and their prices were amazingly low and their services was excellentGuest review byGlenysNew Zealand - 10.0

We were in a good location from everything we wanted to do🤔🤔 We ate at many restaurants in the area. I got to watch the AFL and NRL games at Rama Garden bar and Restaurant. The seafood there was very good and freshly cooked.Guest review byjohnAustralia - 10.0
Fantastic culture, some great places to go in the middle,...
Fantastic culture, some great places to go in the middle, and North of the Island. I spent a week in Ubud, then a week on the South coast. I could have spent 2 weeks in Ubud, and based most of my travels from there. Beaches in the South are something else, great surf, etc. Things to note which you may not expect. Traffic is mental. Most roads are bad, poorly surfaced, narrow and congested. Most people get around by scooter, which is fine, but be prepared for the fumes if you're doing more than a pop-to-the-shops on one. And the endless 'sell'. I was taking my own picture at a restaurant and was told I would have to pay for it (Rice Terraces) They aren't all like that, don't get me wrong, but they will push it. Fun can be had with haggling, Rule of thumb, offer half their asking price, then work back from there. Be prepared to be followed down the street if you don't buy it. Food is amazing. Try the local dishes, so much better than the same dishes back home. And why would you fly half way round the world to have fish & chips in a different country? And, getting there. Get your visa before going, they have 40-ish automated passport gates, which you can use if you have a digital passport. Use the Gojek App for taxi, or even food and other things whilst you're there (Like Uber).Guest review byAlanUnited Kingdom
