We went to Paros, Mykonos and Santorini, and we from what we saw of those cities, Naxos, where our Hotel was located, was definitively the best place to be! Walking from Gorges Beach to the Port of Naxos is a nice walk, and the Castle, with its labyrinth, was really impressive. We feel like Naxos was the best place to reside while we stayed in the region!! BTW if you take the Ferry, know that it can sometimes be cancelled when it is too windy... We loved our four nights and five days in Naxos and could easily have stayed longer. The city is perfect blend of culture, shops, restaurants, bar and nature. My teen daughter and I felt safe and loved the hospitality by everyone. So much to do too. Besides stunning beaches, villages, hiking, really amazing seafood restaurants to just walking around late at night. A lively port, beautiful beaches, the sunset at the Apollo is next level, a quaint little village, and felt safe with great bus services to lots of the different parts of the island. Chora is an exceptional gateway to the island. The meandering pedestrian-only streets, the plaza lined with al fresco dining, and the iconic Portatra, which is even more special when it's illuminated at night. It's a place that is ideal for all types of travellers, the solo adventurer, romantic getaway, and families. It's special and still authentic. The appartment was cleant every single day, it has a very nice and quiet terasse with lots of grapes which we were allowed to eat and we could use towels and parasol to go to the beach. The owner, Vangelis, is super friendly. He helped us with our luggages and explained us a bit about Naxos Chora upon our arrival! We even got welcome and goodbye giftS!
