We stayed in the ground room as the upper room with balcony was supposedly too hot. Room size was okay, and there is a porch to sit in front of the room as well. Yes, the accommodation is close to the beach. Just be aware that you need to bring everything yourself you may expect at a beach when booking a 'beach resort', i.e. beach loungers or anything like that. The beach is beautiful, wild, and appears almost abandoned: walking up and down the beach for 45 minutes we only saw two other people, but at the same time there are fisher boats which appear to be in use still.

We lead a wonderful experience at Lagoon Breeze. The terrace has the most beautiful view overlooking the lagoon. A lovely space to spend time and relax. We were worried prior to booking that there may be noise from the bridge, happily we couldn’t hear the traffic at all. Jana our host went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and helped us with everything we needed during our stay. Important to note that there were some negative reviews posted about Lagoon Breeze in the past. Management has changed since these reviews and the staff is working to continually improve and update the property (still in progress).

A real homestay experience. Nice property, lovely staff. Room was smallish but fine. The best part was the incredible meal the family prepared. This was our 15th night in Sri Lanka but this meal was the best so far.

The town is exceptionally clean, surrounded by water, and radiates a serene charm. Pasikudah, in particular, took our breath away. With its pristine beaches and tranquil waters, it’s nothing short of amazing—a true gem on the eastern coast.

    Wonderful stay – highly recommended ! We spent just one night at Coastal Villa, and it was perfect. Within ten minutes of our arrival, Anurahavan had arranged a boat tour of the lagoon and city – a fantastic experience ! The rooms are very comfortable, and the welcome from Anurahavan and his family was incredibly warm. If you’re passing through Batticaloa, don’t hesitate to book here – you’ll be in great hands !

    The location of the hotel was quiet and located only 200m from the beach. The room was equipped basically but with everything you need. It was clean. The cordial couple running the hotel were always friendly, helpful and courteous. All requests regarding transportation, travel advice and extra requests were fulfilled immediately. We would come back at any time.
