Quiet and scenic location with balconies facing an unobstructed view of the lake. Guests are offered cake , coffee, tea in the afternoon which is a nice benefit. Refrigerated mini bar offered snacks at a reasonable price. Room had personal air conditioning which was great during a very hot arrival. Elevator from ground level garage. Parking was at the door. 5 minute walk to Therme. About 20 min slow walk to town. Huge room with bed and sofa areas. Ultra modern shower. Super clean. Very friendly staff. Super breakfast buffet included a choice of fresh cooked eggs and my favorite the regional smoked fish!

    Quaint small town with waterfront area and then upper area where there is a castle. Good base for hikes or biking - wonderful vineyards and orchards. Ferry leaves from here to almost everywhere so easy.

    Amazing 4 days using Meersburg as a base to explore the beautiful villages around lake Konstanz. Meersburg is an incredible medieval town with the oldest inhabited castle in Germany with an intact dungeon. The entire region is surrounded by the lake and vineyards. Lots of lovely swimming spots, plus great cycling and hiking paths. We enjoyed some fabulous meals in Meersburg and tasted some lovely white wines. This area is a hidden gem, lots to see and do. We will be back!

    The old castle is for sure worth a visit. The oldest museum in Germany. Really great to learn and you get a feeling how life was if you listen to the audio tour. Make sure your cell phone is charged before you start the tour.

    I visited several other locations around the Bodensee during...

    I visited several other locations around the Bodensee during my stay and my conclusion was that Meersburg is probably the most charming. It is mediaeval and beautiful in the old town. The buildings have been repurposed and modernised but retain all their exterior charm. It is extremely convenient for main road routes. However, it is perched quite high above the lake itself. You can walk down to the lakeside promenade, but be prepared for 176 steps in each direction - I counted. It is a great place to relax, eat and drink, but short on anything else much to do. The couple of shops that sell drinks and souvenirs are massively overpriced - especially Oma’s Kaufhaus - Euro 3.50 for a small bottle of mineral water! After 21.00 Meersburg centre is almost deserted.

    It was exactly what we had hoped for. The rooms were absolutely clean and we felt very comfortable. We did look for rooms that were older but less pricey than the rest of Meersburg and it was exactly what we wanted. The reviews of other people suggested bad food and an unfriendly bartender, which is why we decided not to eat there and it was probably a good decision.

    great location and good sized rooms. the staff in the Annex guesthouse where we stayed were lovely. note that the Annex is across the road from the hotel but very easy to access. breakfast is in a different hotel but was outstanding and in no way an issue to stroll a minute down the road to access it.

    Fabulous location overlooking the lake and away from the main action in Meersburg centre. It’s a very pleasant ten minute walk into town beside the lake. Complimentary cake (excellent) and coffee also provided every afternoon which was a very nice touch. The staff are very friendly and helpful
