Had an absolutely wonderful stay at Home Suites. The staff are incredibly attentive and friendly, loved to be welcomed home every day by the cute dog in residence, and the breakfast buffet is out of this world! Highly recommend!

    Visiting JHB after 32 years was shocking to see how it has deteriorated. It's full of garbage everywhere, filthy and dirty. Pot hopes everywhere you go. Most people live behind burglar bars, even driving in black location areas they have burglar bars. Taxi drivers are mad driver and forcing people to comply with their demands, they burnt a uber taxi driver alive and further up north they were setting cars alight. Taxi drivers are dangerous and very aggressive on the roads.

    As in any of the world's great cities, it depends where one goes and how one behaves. I always look forward to arriving in Johannesburg, as over the decades the SA welcome and my subsequent experience as a visitor has been consistently 5 star.

    Great for shopping, especially at the China Mall there is huge variety of products for home and all sort of startup business products. only one thing to remember is morning/afternoon workers traffic flow. Always be careful on the lookout for potholes and robots not working.

    Generally a clean place. Well defined litter boxes and an organized traffic flow. A well maintained place by the concerned municipality. Well done. However, some shopping areas are a security risk to Travellers. Need to have detailed security in such places.

    Joburg is great for shopping.

    Joburg is great for shopping. City and it’s history is also interesting. City Sightseeing Bus was very interesting, and it has a good stop at the Apartheid Museum. Walking is not recommended in Joburg but Uber Black is very cheap and safe. People are very friendly. We only had 3 days in Joburg and this really wasn’t long enough. We wished we had at least 5 days to see the city more and do more shopping!

    Did hop on off bus with Soweto addition, so informative, but didn’t leave enough time for the Apartheid Museum. In hindsight, should have just taken an Uber directly to the Apartheid Museum as it took 4 hours to explore well, needing a break for lunch, so possibly a day’s activity. It was a very informative insight into the history of the region. Felt quite secure and safe, but mainly on tours or in Ubers. Amazing city.

    Food was excellent for breakfast(lots od variety and super observant staff who come to one's aid with hot drinks even before we run out) and dinner superb and comparable to some of the best restaurants in the region. The porters and staff were excellent and ever so friendly. I lost an item in another hotel in the Sandton area. They were happy to help me contact them and chase it up. Love the decor as well and the interior design. I cannot wait to be back in Johannesburg and book with them again

    Hotel Sky was one of the first hotels I stayed in when I travelled to South Africa for the first time before moving into my apartment. It is centrally located, whilst the interiors are a tad outlandish for my sensibilities, they are clean and well equipped. They have a pretty decent gym and some lovely areas to cowork. Plus, the absence of loadshedding and brilliant bell hops does allow you to have a pretty wonderful experience, particularly if you’re a solo female traveller on a work trip.
