It is at a marvelous place, a peninsula into the lake, gardens, green everywhere. We liked the room, the view to the lake is enjoyable as well as the balcony with optional shutters we could control. Bed was comfortable, the whole room is good enough to have relax. Only thing was we never found the way of make the bath heating work, but it was a minor issue. Breakfast has broad selection of foods.

I loved the luxury of this hotel, which is beautifully appointed. Of course, you pay for this luxury as this is very expensive by most standards and it is just difficult to justify this expense during the off season when the weather is not so good. At the best time of the year this would be a real treat.

Beautiful location. Lots of amenities. Free parking. 24 hour desk service if you’re on the road. Friendly and accommodating staff. Plenty of breakfast options. Overall it’s a large complex with enough capacity to service guests of varying requirements. Highly recommended.

This is a absolutely wonderful hotel. Very accommodating and friendly staff and a perfect location on the lake just off of the main town waterfront. Parking was on site. Our room was upgraded and was beautiful, clean and wonderful and on the waterfront with a view of the lake. We paddle boarded with complementary paddle boards and had a drink at the restaurant grassy area. Beautiful. We ate dinner at the hotel restaurant and although a bit pricey it was fantastic 5 stars on the lake at sunset. WOW! Our Chef de Rang was Sabina and she made the evening so special. A delightful hotel and wonderful stay!

    Sadly our hotel could not offer an evening meal as they had a group staying, but there are some excellent restaurants in the town: Pörtschacher Stüble, Sissi’s, Werzers Bootshaus (newly opened in May 2025) and Little Italy were our favourites. The young waitress in Little Italy was a lesson in how to wait at tables-such professionalism and always a big smile! We are in our 70s and less mobile than we once were, but getting around was very easy. The ferry runs all day; we spent many happy hours on it. You can buy a day ticket for about 22 euros and can hop on and off. We bought a weekly ticket for 48 euros and got our money’s worth! We loved it so much that I hesitate to tell people about it! Ryanair flies to Klagenfurt twice a week. From there a 15 minute taxi ride brings you to Pörtschach.

    It was a lovely little town with quite a few restaurants on offer on the main street and down by the lake, and a super market over the road from where we were staying. We ate at "Little Italy", lovely pasta. Had breakfast at the bakery by the train station - amazing food! The train station (5 minutes) up the main road was cheap and easy to use to go into Klagenfurt or the other direction of Velden. We booked all our train tickets using trainline app, which was easy too. It was a short walk down to the Lake which came alive in the evening. It also offered people with families a family friendly park to spend the day on the lake. One day we hired scooters and followed the lake until we found a place to swim. We stopped at Pritschitz and bathed in the lake, locals had their paddleboards / kayaks out.

    Pörtschach is a (touristic) village at the Woerthersee with many restaurants and bars. Excellent for wateractivities but also a good base for walking/hiking. Sightseeing options in the neighbourhood to spend some days. We had a very good dinner experience at restaurant Orathai Schiffwirth.

    Beautiful location. Great for both summer and winter vacations. Hotel is very welcoming and cozy. Staff is extremely nice and helpful. The lake is amazing, clean and perfect for swimming. Many water activities available too. Great if you have a bicycle, if not you can rent, nice cycling routes around thr lake and mountains.
