I was catching up with friends and family so that was my focus on this trip. Wellington does have brilliant cafes, restaurants and attractions such as the Cable Car, Te Papa, Mt Victoria lookout etc. Parking in the city is expensive so look into parking apps as they can save you lots of money. The Wakefield Market on a Sunday is worth going to but parking can be challenging if you go later in the day.Guest review byNigelNew Zealand - 2.0
We left straight away and did not stay.
We left straight away and did not stay. The driveway was completely dangerous, we got stuck half way up and had to walk back down to the bottom to find help. There was no way we could have been able to come and go as needed. The house was also freezing. We contacted to say it was dangerous and unsuitable and would be leaving straight away and got a notification the message had been read but received no reply.Guest review byAnonymous - 10.0

Martinborough is a beautiful town with an attractive square and several lovely cafes and exclusive shops. The Martinborough Bookshop is lively and well stocked - has just won best independent bookshop in NZ.Guest review byRuthNew Zealand - 6.0
Everything within walking distance.
Everything within walking distance. However there's NO pedestrian crossings from the motel side of the road! I'm a bit slow with bad hips and I was taking my life into my hands to get across to the mall lol. Great little cafe called "Local Authority" under the council building next to the gym! Fantastic coffee and lovely staff!Guest review byChrisNew Zealand - 8.0
Upper Hutt is a growth area.
Upper Hutt is a growth area. Being right next to the ranges it is cold in Winter but I would argue the Summers are warmer than Wellington because the Wairarapa which is warm is on the other side of the rangersGuest review byRogerNew Zealand - 10.0
Beautiful accommodation, close to township.
Beautiful accommodation, close to township. Everything we needed was provided, very compact but all we needed. Breakfast and extras provided especially the chocolate cake set this accommodation apart from others. Definitely 5 star.Guest review byJoy ShepherdNew Zealand - 8.0

All in all it was a very good experience staying and I would stay there again. The unit was nice and clean and the staff were very welcoming. The local Indian restaurant is the best Indian food I have ever had and the service was exceptional not to mention that the prices are very reasonable. We tried to get into the Thai but it was fully booked. We went to another restaurant down by the beach which was upstairs but it was so noisy that it was to hard to hear. We were down for a funeral and had a car so very easy to get around the area.Guest review byGinaNew Zealand - 6.0

There is no Uber, only their local Taxi, which makes getting around without a car quite difficult They do have a lot of Beaches and Reserves close by, and when I stayed at the White House up the hill, I had an epic view with the best Sunset.Guest review byClliffdog01New Zealand - 8.0
Great place. The beach and surrounds have much to offer.
Great place. The beach and surrounds have much to offer. For a low key activity go to Nga Manu. Relaxing and informative! Watch the eels being fed and attempt to see a nesting kiwi. We did, but not much action to see. If you like nature, just go.Guest review byIvan & SharynAustralia
