The location was perfect for exploring Kinsale. Everything was close enough to walk to. The staff were great - friendly and very helpful. The breakfast was a great way to start the day and the number of choices incredible. You could have just juice or tea or coffee and yoghurt or some fabulous cooked options. It was disastrous, my wife decided to go down the town for a walk around as she was walking she noticed foreigners watching her every move and they then started to pair up and follow her, she felt so threatened that she had to go into spar shop and wait for me to collect her. Would never visit there again.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away.

Kinsale is a fantastic town for a weekend away. There are several excellent restaurants where you will have unforgettable experiences. The Black Pig and Finns Farmcut are amazing. Breakfast can be hit or miss, The Lemon Leaf and OHK were excellent. If the weather allows the walk out to Charles Fort is lovely, with a pint of Murphy’s at the Bulmans. The views at the Old Head of Kinsale are breathtaking, and Garretstown Beach is stunning. The tour and tasting at Kinsale Mead is fascinating and a unique highlight. Be careful choosing where to stay, as standards are not reflected by star ratings, and the centre can be noisy. Parking is challenging with two hour max at the central car park, better at SuperValu but you’ll need to move your car overnight.

We arrived later in the evening but were welcomed wonderfully. If you drive to the hotel, know that parking is only what you find on the street. Our room was lovely and spacious and the bathroom was nice. There isn't an elevator available so if you are on the 3rd floor like we were, be prepared to pull your bags up the stairs. Be sure to book a paid breakfast with your room reservation. It was soooo good and one of the best meals we had in 2 weeks. A good breakfast gave us the energy to tackle a busy day. Kinsale is a lovely town and even mid-week on a foggy fall day, we loved walking around.

Kinsale is a picturesque hilly harbourside town with great shops and restaurants. We had beautiful weather enjoyed walking around the town and took the harbor cruise. There were lots of good restaurants (a few require reservations way ahead), lively pubs, and various take-away food options. We stayed 2 nights, but only had 1 full day to explore the town. The roads into town are extremely steep & narrow, so we were happy to be able to park once at our guest house and not drive again till we left. Taxis are almost impossible to find. We ate at Fishy Fishy (had reservations months ahead) our first night and at the Blue Haven Restaurant & Bistro the second night. The live music was great. We heard great things about the Ghost Tour, but didn't have time for that. Parking can be an issue so make sure your guesthouse/hotel has parking. Stop at the Tourism office for great suggestions.

It is a beautiful village on a bay with an old-world charm.

It is a beautiful village on a bay with an old-world charm. It can be quite busy as it is rightly popular. Lots of local shops, pubs and restaurants, all with an authentic feel. Beside the harbour, their are two marinas, two castle ruins and a lovely beach. It is also near the beginning of the Wild Atlantic Way which runs clockwise round the west coats of Ireland. 25 minutes from Cork airport, this place is a real gem

Maeve was absolutely the best. We arrived on a Sunday evening & she stayed open a little while longer because I misjudged the travel time. Felt bad because that’s her time off. The hotel was clean & the breakfast was really good with several options. The location is a little off the beaten path so it’s quiet but is only a 5-10 minute walk to everything. She also provides a list of things to do as well as places to eat & drink. If I come back through in the future this will be the place I stay.

Great location for walking around town. Beautiful, elegant rooms with first class accoutrements. Every detail was superb. But the best part was the array of breathtaking black & white photographs taken by our host, Giles Norman, which adorned the walls. What a treat to meet Ireland's revered artist his lovely wife Catherine and son Louis and to stay in this wonderful townhouse above the gallery. A unique experience, especially since I am also a professional photographer.

nice clean bright room. We overlooked a childrens playground which was quite noisy. The location is brilliant, and can walk to the centre in a few minutes. On the night of arrival we didnt eat out. There was a chipper a couple of doors up (Dino's) Would go back just for their fish and chips. Weather was lovely. We had a wedding in the Trident Hotel, which was on the doorstep so a very enjoyable experience in Kinsale.

One of the best Irish breakfasts I ever had in a hotel. The dinner in the evening was excellent. Both the bar and the restaurant where busy both nights that we stayed and the staff where very friendly and cheerful with everyone. Shower in room was very good and the bed very comfortable. A pleasant hotel to stay in. Would be happy to return sometime in the future.

Breakfast was first class and the dining room had a wonderful atmosphere. Room was really comfortable and spacious. The location of the hotel is superb The hotel was very clean and you got the impression at all times that great care was being taken. Very well managed. Very good value-not sure how much that was influenced by Covid?

Extremely clean rooms (normally carpet on the floor leads to my allergies acting up, but this was not the case here) and friendly staff. The breakfast was about the best we had in Ireland as well. The house was nice with cosy sitting areas.
