Austin is a vibrant city with an eclectic mixture of old and new. It has a vibrancy that only comes from a city on the move! You can still get plenty of authentic Texas bbq and tex mex fare as well as other good restaurants. Public transport is excellent and easy and inexpensive to use.

The airport is not a pleasant one.
The airport is not a pleasant one. I hope I never have to return to Austin. The place is not comfortable. They don't have sleep pods or Minute Suites. The baggage claim disorganization is almost as bad as Miami and they aren't as big or busy as an excuse.

Modern, friendly city.
Modern, friendly city. Generally clean with lovely green spaces. Not a lot of historical interest so better for short visits.
Some areas a bit seedy & too much emphasis on it being a great place for music - most of what we heard was poor ! We found food & drinks surprisingly expensive.

Austin is a great town.
Austin is a great town. There are tons of great restaurants, shops, parks, outdoor activities, bars and dance clubs. Everything was within walking distance or a short uber/Lyft drive away. I would highly recommend visiting Austin. But, probably not in the summer :|

Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city.
Austin was an unexpectedly beautiful and pleasant city. Walkable parks and downtown. The Capitol is beautiful and UT campus is really nice.Lots to see and visit. Many great restaurants and, of course, music venues. The neighborhoods are beautiful, especially around SoCo (but I wouldn't be able to buy a house there).

This city is much larger than I expected and is growing rapidly. There are wonderful things to see and do and the people are wonderful. We took an hour long river boat ride where the skyline and 'lake' was explained. We went to live music at the smaller stage at the ACL. We took a 3 hour long tour of haunted sites. We were there for the eclipse but we drove out of the city to the Hill Country outside of Austin which was delightful. Unfortunately the transportation infrastructure in Austin is just not able to accommodate all that growth so traffic is quite a problem and there is almost no public transportation.
The location was convenient for me as it’s close to the University of Texas at Austin’s museums and the LBJ Presidential Library and to the state capitol. The rooftop offers a fantastic view of downtown Austin and the Capitol. The hotel staff were helpful and cheerful (Fernando and Freddy were especially cheery and they both have a delightful sense of humor). My room was very comfortable.
Such friendly staff at reception. Breakfast was better than most of the equivalent hotels in the region with rather more choice - love those waffle makers! Room spacious and good air con (believe me, absolutely essential anywhere in Texas in summer!) Good value for money. You could pay a lot lot more in Austin - it's a thriving, expanding city and downtown hotels do not come cheap.
AT&T Hotel & Conference Center is perfectly located for exploring the Capitol, UT campus, or downtown Austin. The rooms are comfortable and there are nice common areas both inside and out. We especially like the courtyard that has plenty of seating for gathering with friends. Staff are always very friendly and the parking rate for guests is much cheaper than other hotels.
Everything was wonderful. Shopping/Eateries and Central Bark that was 10 min walk from the hotel. Kept are travel buddies (fur babes) lulu & brodie happy.
Less than 15 min drive to Bull Creek preserve. If you like to hike, 20 mins to Downtown in heavy traffic. It was great trip. We usually, stay downtown Austin. This was great look key no stress trip for us!!
The accommodations were fine for a budget/business hotel. There was plenty of parking and it's easy to get to either downtown Austin or the airport from there, traffic permitting. The room was very clean and the breakfast was OK.
The staff is always amazing, we love staying here and the hotel is very clean. This location is close to to everything happening in downtown Austin, we walked everywhere and only drove when it was time to depart.
The hotel is in a great downtown Austin location. Central to the suburbs and areas around Austin, close to the highway. There are a few places within walking distance, such as bars and convenience stores.
A comfortable spot in a location excellent for accessing by foot all the action on 6th Street, both in East Austin and downtown. Easy to gain entry to the place, and the room was clean and well-equipped.
The staff was very efficient and friendly. We drove 10 hours to Austin to watch the Alabama vs Texas game and had new nothing about the hotel or Austin. The staff made our stay very enjoyable.
The view from my room of the Colorado River was exceptional. The hotel is well-located downtown and has great amenities onsite, including a bar, roof-top restaurant, pool, and gym.
the location of the hotel is great being downtown and very close to capital building and the music district etc. but if you value cleanliness and hygiene I would look elsewhere.
Everything was very clean and modern inside of the hotel room. A quick and cheap uber away from Austin... a better alternative than staying right in the city center!
