A charming and peaceful city full of culture and history Hue is a beautiful and peaceful city in central Vietnam, perfect for travelers who enjoy history, culture, and slower-paced travel. The Imperial City, royal tombs, and pagodas are must-see landmarks, offering a deep insight into Vietnam’s rich heritage. The people in Hue are friendly and helpful, the local food is flavorful (especially bún bò Huế and cơm hến), and the Perfume River gives the whole city a calm, romantic atmosphere. Hue is less hectic than Hanoi or Ho Chi Minh City, which makes it a great destination for relaxing, sightseeing, and enjoying traditional Vietnamese life. I wish I had spent more time in Hue — the Imperial Citadel is incredibly beautiful, and there are so many tombs and historical monuments to explore. If I could redo my itinerary, I would definitely spend more time here instead of in Da Nang. It's a beautiful city.
It's a beautiful city. The Citadel is walking distance from the TCC Imperial Hotel. Although on a hot day Grab taxi will drive you there for D50,000. Very nice to walk around the area. I enjoyed getting a motorbike and touring the city on my own. It's pretty big so having some sort of transportation is key to enjoying the sights and sounds. The food in Hue is truly the best in all of Vietnam in my opinion. I recommend the abandoned waterpark as a really cool photo opportunity, and was cautioned against the audio tour of the imperial city as it was mainly just facts about the size of spaces rather than context around the use of them.Guest review byEmileUnited States
