Staff was absolutely attentive and always willing to help. Rooms were clean and the location was nice and quiet, while still walking distance to cool sights, town (during the day), etc. Pool and restaurant area were welcoming and fun. The amenities/dispensers (handsoap, bodywash, shampoo, conditioners) were also nice. Hot water is adjustable and ample, and even with an on/off switch. :) Good ventilation and A/C options.

Good place to base with lots of activities close by.
Good place to base with lots of activities close by. We didn't spend much time in the town itself as we stayed slightly out of town center so cannot comment on restaurants and such. Good street food. Good grocery shopping to stock up.

We spent 2 full days there.
We spent 2 full days there. The first day we went to the local Mayan ruins of Cahal Peche and Xanantunich and the second we went cave tubing with Bellizean Caving Expeditions. Both were amazing experiences. If we had an extra day we would have loved to see the Mayan city of Carocal which is further away from town.

If you're looking for quiet and remote, then this is your place. There isn't much to do here. Thank God for the Casinos. They gave me something other than staring at the hotel walls to do.
Visiting the Mayan ruins of Xunantunich, was great. But you definitely want to take the taxi from the ferry to the top of the hill, if you're not in good shape.
Just a little way up the road is a restaurant named Sweet & Sour. The food was very good. I just wasn't feeling the cow foot soup. Lol.
Although lots of advertisement says public transportation is available. However, unless you want to spend a small fortune, you absolutely need a car and a working cell phone for the GPS.
The people in Belize were very helpful and friendly. It was great that most of them spoke English. This was a huge plus.
The poverty here was heart breaking. I'm glad that I had an opportunity to visit. But I doubt that I will be going back any time soon.

The only thing that was horrific about this place was the hair braiding woman whose small shop is directly left from The Spot restaurant which is on the opposite side of the Venus hotel. The woman is violent. She gave us a big spill about how awful my daughters hair extensions were and that she would take it out and do it again. She said she would do it for 50USD. We accepted as she seemed like a nice lady but how wrong we were. She took the extensions out but then said she couldn’t remove the beads in my daughters hair and would need to leave them in. My daughter was horrified so I then had to bite every single one of them out myself. She then cut a three inch chunk of my daughters hair which is right on the crown. We told her we didn’t want her doing it and she bullied us to carry on. She then side platted my daughters natural hair and made a huge plaitted bump and then sowed the hair into the plait leaving a huge surplus of the hair extensions hanging. My daughter was so distraught and started crying and begged her to stop. She then took a 12 inch kitchen knife from her handbag and pepper spray on her key ring and said we must giver her the money. It was such a scary experience. Please please avoid this woman at all costs. We then complained to authorities whom explained she was mentally unstable. They wanted us to file a police report to have her arrested but we just wanted to leave the area.

The market is a must see for especially the food that is available throughout the day.
Just like any other place, be careful at night time when walking downtown. We did feel very safe.
Have bug repellents ready at night.

Good spot to stay and commute to various tourist places in Western Belize-ruins, market, Guatemala border. Some of our destinations were far enough from San Ignacio that if I did the trip again, would have stayed closer to them versus commuting from San Ignacio
Bubbles and Jessica are an absolute tour de force. They are not only friendly, but they are helpful, reliable and HONEST (as in they give independent travelers like myself accurate information and options as opposed to trying to get money through hotel linked taxi services ). And let's face facts. What other hostel do you know of that has a Mayan ruin directly behind it? Great location and easy access to these places for the historical and nature enthusiast. Great kitchen area and other facilities.
The property is located in a beautiful farm. Walking distance to the mayan ruins (about 1,5h one way). Very comfortable beds, coffee and tea available in rooms. Good wifi. Dinner and drinks available to purchase on the property.
The best part of the stay though, was the host himself, Dominic. He was always keen for a chat and was extremely kind, offering help and advice in anything he could.
Cant recommend this property enough and would definitely stay again if we are in the area.
I loved everything about the property. It was gorgeous and clean. The staff was all so incredibly friendly and helpful. They went out of their way to help me and my friend on multiple occasions. The food was 5 star quality, as were the drinks. I cannot speak highly enough of this resort, but I do know that I will be booking this hotel the next time I stay in San Ignacio. If I could give this place 10 stars, I would!
Room is basic but comfy. Food is simple but delicious. It’s not a full service restaurant but they try their best to cater to your needs.
Dominic is a wonderful host and loves to spend time getting to know his guests. We really enjoyed our day out with the local tour guide he recommended, as well as the shuttle company that got us to San Ignacio and back to the airport.
Perfect location, nice spacious garden and a great atmosphere that fits in San Ignacio perfectly. But, most important, the owners are a wonderful couple, helpful and truly concerned about the satisfaction of their customers. When going to Belize, don't just stay at the coast or the Cayes, make sure you visit San Ignacio, Cayo and stay at Mana Kai!
Very convenient location to explore the san ignacio area. It has everything you need in kitchen and living room for cooking and spending relaxing evening. Hosts provides plenty of local recommendations on things to do and is very friendly. She provides a tasty breakfast. Wifi seems to work well for us. Great stay! Thank you for having us
Our host, Neil, was brilliant. So welcoming, friendly and accomodating. The rooms are lovely clean and spacious and are set in amazing grounds with walking trais on our doorstep. The best part though is the food. Neil is an amazing cook! The food was so delicious and definitely a highlight of the stay.
Such good vibes here that are created by the amazing staff, allowing you to have the best time. They're helpful, fun and ensure that you're having a good time without being too in your face. AC works well in rooms, there are enough bathrooms and good places to chill in the accommodation.
The hostel was great! Central location, clean, comfortable and Amber was extremely helpful, I cannot thank her enough. The hostel also organises Tours at the best price (you have to do ATM cave!) ! I Had an amazing Time & would definitely recommend it without any hesitation.
Hotel located at a hill top outside of San Ignacio with a good view of the city and surroundings. The hut we stayed was pleasant when getting a breeze in the evening. Hotel also provides many tours in this area. We booked a few transfers and tours through the hotel.
My room was incredibly clean and spacious. The bathroom was also huge, but the tub was awkward to get in to (I'm short). Charlene was the best host a traveler could ask for! I hope she has a great vacation this summer- she earned it.
The guy working there is 11/10 - taught me Spanish, told me how to get to Flores by taxi + local bus + tuktuk, taxi 8Belizean dollars + bus 60 ketsalas + 10 ketsalas for tuktuk, a lot better and cheaper way than to take the tourist bus
Excellent guest house with friendly and joyful staff, spacious rooms equipped with a fridge and a good AC. Located very centrally in San Ignacio with nice views from the rooftop. Free water provided. Good value!
Wish we’d found this one earlier. It was everything we needed at a very affordable price. Best of all was the location - step out of the hotel upon the charming promenade street at the heart of San Ignacio.
the owner is the best guy ever! he hosted us like family. the vibes in this place are amazing and he organizes different activities every night for us.
the kitchen is well equipped
Fiona, the owner of the restaurant was an amazing! She introduced us to local traditional favorite foods and was very welcoming. Made us feel at home. Her fry jacks are the best!
The food was excellent. Had some amazing staff. I will say the food was the best I ever had in Belize however the accommodations didn't match the quality.
