The breakfast was nice - fresh and good selection of hot, cold, cereals, pastries etc. The mushrooms especially were very nicely cooked. The staff were really friendly and helpful, and the location was great for the beach. It took approximately 30 mins to walk along the promenade into the town / pier etc but only 5 minutes to get down to lovely stretches of beaches and seaside shacks etc. The car park had plenty of space and was at the location rather than on street. We intended to visit the pool but didn’t get a chance because we were busy out and about so can’t comment on that. The property was generally clean.

Location was excellent — just a 3-min drive or 13-min walk to the beach, and close to loads of restaurants. The staff were great too, letting us keep our luggage there after checkout so we could squeeze in more beach time before our later train. Overall, a comfy stay!

Sea Air and Savoir-Faire

Known for its sandy beaches and good nightlife, Bournemouth is a popular seaside resort on the Dorset coast between Poole and Christchurch.

The town is centred on the Bourne River, running downhill towards the sea by Bournemouth Pier. This pier looks back towards a promenade lined with beach huts at the foot of grassy cliffs. The promenade continues west to Poole, while a road goes east to neighbouring Boscombe, where anglers often fish from its pier. Overlooking it is a clifftop road housing some Bournemouth hotels with sea views.

Booking.com also offers hotels near the BIC – Bournemouth International Centre in the West Cliff area. This convention centre and music venue is a short walk from the Art Deco Pavilion Theatre, located next to the Lower Gardens. In this popular city park is the Bournemouth Eye, a tethered hot air balloon that offers far-reaching views.

At the park’s top end the river disappears under a large square, then emerges in the Central Gardens. Overlooking these gardens is the Victorian town hall, which used to be one of several spa hotels in Bournemouth. Opposite is a Grade I-listed church, and St Peter’s Church has the grave of Mary Shelley, author of ‘Frankenstein’.

On the outskirts of town, near 4 golf courses and the Castlepoint Shopping Centre, is Bournemouth Airport.

    The staff at our accommodation were first class!

    The staff at our accommodation were first class! They were the best! We enjoyed being in Bournemouth as its beaches are great, clean and dog friendly. We eat at the Harvester and really enjoyed the meals and choices. We eat outside and had our dogs with us as we would never leave them alone in the accommodation. Highly recommend Bournemouth! Great place for holiday but accommodation (decent) is extremely expensive in my opinion.

    I've been visiting Bournemouth for over 20 years. I just love it. I normally stay with my sister in law. Both my cousin and I, can down for the Bournemouth Reggae 3 day weekend. Which was amazing. Looking forward to coming back next year already.

    I enjoyed sitting on the pier, Walking around the town shops, there was a lot of young people arguing in the streets I had fish and chips from a caravan by the big wheel- not the best. Subway sandwich And bought salad from the supermarket

    Beautiful beaches, nice cafes and restaurants. Aruba bar/restaurant in particular has a perfect location, nice vibe and food good. Long walks along the promenade or on the beach. Pop up bar restaurants available on the beach.

    The staff were present and helpful. It is a pleasant walk away from beach, pier and the town. The room was clean and and well maintained. The hotel was quirky, the rooms are themed which adds some novelty to your usual hotel stay. Very reasonable price compared to other hotels in the area. This hotel is perfect for stag dos, hen dos and other trips to Bournemouth to experience the seaside night life. Or like in our case a reasonably priced hotel to stay a night or two in transit if needed.

    Easily the best hotel that I have stayed in when I visit Bournemouth and I've stayed in quite a few different hotels over the last few months. Great value for money, large rooms, really comfortable beds and facilities. A five minute walk from the town centre and the beach. The staff are all really friendly and helpful. I've stayed here twice and will be booking again.
