Beautiful spacious rooms, very clean and comfortable bed. Staff were just amazing, nothing was too much for them, so helpful.
Breakfast was very tasty, quick and hot!
We had a meal here and I can so recommend the food, I ate the sea bass, best I've had yet! My daughter had a dirty burger and also said it was the best she's eaten.
The playpark is really really good, you need this and it's very rare to find a park like this at any accommodation.
I cannot fault this hotel at all, I really have thought of any negatives .. nope.. not one.
You will not be disappointed staying here.

Beautiful location with lots of history within walking distance. The ratty train was also a lot of fun and took us to Eskdale where you can climb up to see a waterfall.
The Inn at Ravenglass had amazing food and we will definitely be going again!

But the staff is not helpful I traveled 2 hours from Yorkshire and the staff told me I can’t check in before 3 and I wait for my room nearly 3 hours just sitting on the chair and I booked 2 rooms me and my friends but they gave me 2 rooms in two different buildings I request them just manage our rooms to near each other but they say they can’t which make us very very sad 😭

Friendly people, great parking facilities. Plenty of local attractions despite being a small quiet and peaceful place.
And if you fancy a trip back in time, please visit the local post office, had to take photos.
Railway is exceptional, had a great train ride with a first class cream tea.
Felt relaxed and calm throughout the stay.

We loved walking round and seeing the steam trains.
We loved walking round and seeing the steam trains. The local shop/post office seemed a bit odd. There were papers all over the place and the owner was willing to sell us out of date orange juice. Honestly felt like we had just walked into an old man's living room. Felt very uncomfortable. Had to travel quite a way to get food. But such a beautiful area! Would definitely go back. A definite for train lovers!

A great place for a relaxing break.
A great place for a relaxing break. Lovely to look out over the river estuaries at high or low tide and listen to the curlews and oyster catchers. Not a traditional seaside location, but interesting, with things to do within walking distance or a short drive. Furthest place we went was Wastwater - beautiful scenery and good place for wild swimming, paddling or kayaking. Ravenglass has beautiful sunsets and is so quiet!! Nice to get away from busy, commercial areas
Three of us on motorcycles booked 2 rooms for 3 nights to walk Scafell and Scafell Pike. The hotel was a good base for what we wanted whilst also offering some good local walks. Just check the tide tables before attempting the coastal path! The food was excellent; the rooms a good size and comfortable; the staff efficient, friendly and helpful. Although there is no specific drying room for wet clothing and boots, the manager offered to put my boots in the Boiler room overnight which was useful.
Very comfortable hotel with friendly and cheerful staff. The general decoration was in good order and pleasant, the bar area was very comfortable and welcoming. The food was delicious, menu varied and tempting and the portions generous. Really enjoyed the breakfast. Our suite had a nice view of the bay and the street below, quiet at night, the bathroom was huge with an excellent shower, bed very comfortable.
Good B&B in Ravenglass. Had everthing I needed. Proper cooked English Breakfast. Nice view. Evening food options very close by (Ravenglass Inn doing real ale and good but expensive food, Penningtons Hotel for meals, Ratty Arms on main station platform to re-open later in the Spring after refurbishment). Very convenient for Ravenglass main line rail station and Ravenglass & Eskdale narrow gauge tourist railway.
It was perfect in terms of space, and was in a wonderful quiet spot. The views are so pretty in the morning and at sunset.
The staff at the hotel that helped us were absolutely exceptional. Kind, helpful and happy! We had our toddler with us and they made sure we had a cot bed for her and even brought us a high chair.
We will very happily visit again.
We loved Ravenglass and the cabin was right in the Village Centre close to the 3 pubs/food places, close to the charming Ravenglass Eskdale railway which we made good use of. It was also well located for walking in the area, along the beach or into the hills. The cabin was super spacious, beautifully done up with excellent facilities.
The room was clean and modern, and very comfortable. The staff was helpful and accommodating. We arrived late the first night after a long international flight, and they worked with us to make sure we could get dinner at the Pennington Hotel, which was so appreciated after 24 hours of travel and not much in the way of a proper meal.
Stunning views. Perfect for watching the sunset or sunrise if you're up early enough.
The room was huge - we said they could have two rooms in the space.
The food (from the Hotel a few doors down) was superb and comfy sofas in the bar area were very comfortable.
Food & drink prices were reasonable for 'Hotel' prices.
For Covid reasons we had to breakfast at the linked hotel Pennnington in Ravenglass. We also had evening meal there and the food was first class.
Whenever we had a query the owners themselves sorted us out and were always kind and gracious. The Castle and grounds are a great visit and higly recommended
great staff, very helpful on phone before we arrived, very friendly on arrival, Nothing too much trouble, Dean was exceptional. The food really was amazing, so was the service. very warm feel to the hotel, I chose it cos it was opposite the estuary n very scenic, n 15 min drive from scafell pike.
Once we found the hotel, picking up the keys were easy. Postcode kind of stops before the hotel, so a little confusing. So just keep going, hotel entrance opposite estuary, not a side road. Herbert house was very picturesque, Knotts View has a side entrance.
The room was very comfy and clean.
There was a lovely view from the window,I found the staff in the hotel a few doors up who run these rooms very pleasant and helpful ,we had breakfast there it was very nice.
Great location, and a great view. The hotel was next door so we were able to talk to the staff whenever we needed and could use the bar. Nice spacious house, and plenty of room for all of us.
