I recently had the pleasure of staying at the Plough Hotel and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The attentive staff went above and beyond to ensure my stay was comfortable and enjoyable. Their warm hospitality truly made me feel welcome from the moment I arrived.
Moreover, the location of the hotel is superb. Situated in the heart of the city, it provided easy access to all the attractions and amenities I wanted to explore. Whether I was heading out for a day of sightseeing or simply looking for a nice place to dine, everything was conveniently within reach.
Overall, my experience at the Plough Hotel was nothing short of fantastic. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a top-notch accommodation with excellent service and a prime location.

The hotel was lovely and the local pub full of character and happy people! Close to the beautiful Pitsford reservoir with it's stunning scenery and relaxing and easy walking and cycling around. The small villages and towns nearby just beg to be explored and we wished we had more time to do this!

As far as I know the only reason to visit here is the airfield. Immediately in front of the hotel is a company offering flights in vintage aircraft such as Spitfires and Tiger Moths and to one side is the base of the Blades Aerobatic team. Both were flying a range of aircraft all day with the Blades providing a full four aircraft flying display over the airfield for their own guests. It would be worth a visit for that alone. For anyone interested in aviation this is a great place to visit as the public areas are really close to the aircraft. We even had an impromptu fly past by the Red Arrows. Whether that happens often I don't know but as the Blades pilots are all ex Red Arrows I doubt it was a one off.
No problem parking cars and no parking charges and the Aviator Hotel offers bar and food service to non residents.

The amount of traffic at the aerodrome was quite a surprise, but not as much as seeing a Spitfire and a P-47 Thunderbolt in action. We didn't have time to visit the aviation museum, so can't comment... but you will need to check its opening times.
The hotel is what you would expect for the money they were charging. The cell phone signal out there was really poor so I relied on their WiFi but to be honest the Wifi was very poor in the common areas and nothing in the rooms.
The staff were super friendly and helpful, hotel in general very clean and tidy. drinks were reasonably priced.
ample parking
Should I need to work again in that area I would stay again.
The Hotel was beautifully styled in Art Deco which is one of the reasons we chose it.
It was also comfortable and clean with a good breakfast and evening meal if required. Great value.
Perfect place to stay to explore nearby Burley House, Stamford and Cambridge. Will visit again!
Food was good value and excellent for the price. The hotel has an amazing 1930's ambience and a lovely sheltered outside area; where if you are lucky, you can watch a Spitfire taxi and take off in front you while you sip your beer!
Absolutely fantastic hotel, the style and Art Deco surroundings and attention to detail are excellent. My morning alarm clock was the sound of the spitfire that flys from the aerodrome it’s based in,truly magnificent!
